I used a generic Blendmount for my Uniden R7 and it works...the only issue is I can’t move the mirror down to use the actual mirror, I have to use the camera mirror feature...but that’s ok by me...this will tide me over until the actual C8 mount is released
Love the BlendMounts in our cars. But, the question is about suction cups. No favorite of those for me but you are getting good input. The only thing I want to share is a reminder that front window suction cups are illegal in California. So, until a mirror mount meets your needs, if you see you are going to pull up beside a cop at a light, give some thought to pulling the suction cup off off until they depart. I got warned for it once in my Z and a friend got a cite for it in his P car. Just food for thought like front license plates which I risk and have been ticketed for twice, but I still refuse to give them a front mounted laser target and uglify my car in the process.
I went ahead with the glue on Ebay unit. I'll put it on this weekend with the mirror tap. If that doesn't work out, I'll go with the suction until the blendmount comes out.
I just use a small bungee and hard wire it. I like that it is high so it is difficult to see from outside and it cannot fall down, The bungee clips onto the edge of the headliner. I have a newer (larger) Escort in my 2019 Tahoe set up the same way. I am hoping to do something similar with the C8.
