Going to add a piggyback (sometimes called : add-a-circuit ) in the fuse box behind the glove box. Anybody know what size fuses are used ? Think I will use fuse #50 which is the auxiliary plug fuse . Called the dealer and they didn't know which fuses they use.
Which I thought was kinda strange ?

Perhaps the Owner's Manual has that info?

There are no pictures in this thread, but the C8 has 2 fuse blocks. One behind the glove box and one in the waterfall between the seats. Both are described (with diagrams) in the Owners Manual. Make sure you are looking at the right one.

Can you find that thread from Flying Frunk Fuse 16 timeframe (August-ish) where we all learned that the glovebox diagram was up-sidedown/***-backwards, please? (I looked for a bit...no joy). I think one of the OP's issues is that the panel doesn't look anything like the diagram....and he's right!

And yeah, I just looked in the Owner's Manual.....nothing about fuse sizes. WTF? My 1970 Chrysler 300's manual gives fuse sizes.....for all eight fuses and one horn relay!

You need to turn the manual diagram 180 degrees. It matches perfectly then.

Here's a much easier way to tap into "key-on" 12v for your radar detectors. See: https://www.corvetteblogger.com/2020...arview-mirror/

The 15" Blendmount MirrorTap MT-4015 (see https://blendmount.com/search.php?se...ection=product , ask for Tony) is the ideal length. Per the above video, tap the 15" MT-4015 on the right side, then run the wires upward, then turn a 180 degrees (see attached picture) taking the MT-4015 down and under, then up on the driver's side (applying a similar zip tie as per the passenger's side). Then run the end of the MT-4015 through a 1/2" hole drilled into the 12 o'clock position on the access cover.

Note: My C8 is a 3LT so I'm not certain if the contents in the back of the mirror is the same on other models. I used the existing RED for (+) and the BLACK for (-). See post #49 here: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ot-easy-3.html

I believe the fuses are of two sizes: 2 prong micro 2 and 3 prong micro 3.

For the 3 prong, I've read both that the center pin is power, and two out pins ground for two different circuits, and that the outer pins are power and the center is ground. I don't know which is accurate. Here's a micro 3 add a fuse on Amazon

If the 3 prong fuse protects two different circuits, it would have to be a common ground and two separate power pins.

Seems the #50 which is front auxiliary plug is something different than all the standard sizes and can't find a add a circuit . Anybody had any success with other fuse in the front fuse box that turn off when the car shuts down and is a non critical function
