HTC with just 300 miles mostly top down in SoCal. Closed the top and noticed the wide seam on the passenger side. Something is not folding well. The drivers seam is tighter however the driver window could not close and did an auto open. I had to hold the window button to force the close. I don’t tempt fate by lowering and raising the top while moving. I do open and close outside my garage which has a 20 % incline which is the only non optimal use case.
I had the auto close drivers window issue previously which I had to override but I did not notice the passenger top seam. Likely the same issue.
I will open the top and stop it at different key points to compare both left and right sides to see if there is anything I can adjust.
I anyone has a similar experience and solved it please let me know.
I will report what I find and if I cannot fix will head to the dealer.
Believe me, many Vette owners have good reason to try and avoid dealer Svc. Depts. if at all possible; and, yes... I'm one of them.
So, if all the top-gap fix takes is removal of a cover panel and moving a wire, you bet I'd want to have a look-see before taking 'er in to have gawd-only-knows what else screwed-up in the process.
Could it have been like that and you never noticed it was out of alignment?
Someone else also reported a gap issue that looked like this and it was easily adjusted by the dealer. Actually, I think a couple people noted something like this gap and both were on the passenger side, but the driver's side was fine.

DON"T adjust anything! Take it to the dealers. Fiddle with it and void the warranty.
It happened to me and a few other people. There is a pinched wiring harness under the trim piece. The dealer just needs to move the wire and reseat the trim piece correctly. In every case it is happening on the passenger side. Whoever is installing the piece on the first shift is doing a terrible job.

Ok so I inspected the top by stopping the retraction and found the issue.
on the drivers side tie wrapped to the frame members is a reasonably sized wire.
however on the passenger’s side apparently there is more than one wire in a braided flexible casing.
seems a design issue as the trim pieces look similar on both sides however the cables that run along the frame are not.
see pics below. Not the best....
actually not sure if the dealer can really do anything.
I have an appointment for Friday and not sure I will go. If I do the DCT SW OTA update failed and it can be done there as it seems I don’t have any retry opportunities.

Definitely another one of the factory quality control laps issue!
After I saw the tread this being mentioned by others - (https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...it-issues.html), I went to check my car, and while the gap is wider than what we'd like to see, on my HTC it doesn't have the problem others said that you could stick your finger into it, and mine seems to be aligned well (that's also part of the reason I didn't like the fact that now I had to let a dealer to tear it apart for fixing the wrong rear view mirror, and not sure if they could put it back together to align them well like the factory did). So each HTC must be slightly different on this, depending on who installed it for your car, and it's a hit and miss thing.

I went to the dealer for my appointment.
the needed tech was on vacation even though I described the issue when making the appointment.
also I was just going to do the DCT sw update as my OTA update failed but they said they needed 2 hours and I had no ride so I bailed on the service.
also I was 40 miles from getting the new post 500 mile redline so getting there took priority
