Funny how that works! If things hold together, this could be the best consecutive 3 week period in MY 2021. I'm definitely hoping to see that streak extended for many weeks.

Bob, I know that you deferred for a month, when is yours going to be built?

I think we would have heard by now if any production issues were going to occur in the form of shortages, etc for next week and possibly week after....fingers crossed!

I was originally in the January allocation, and just went with the March allocations last week. I'm thinking it'll be late may/june time frame for the majority of that group.

And I understand about the nights before picking it up. I'll be having mine delivered from NH, so I think mine will be the wait between MM loading in the truck, and it arriving. I hope your new "baby" gets a fast release from the "hospital"!

i hope you're right. I think shutdown #2 was a late week notice, and unexpected, since it was the first week following shutdown #1. So, with the wackiness of what's happening today, I see a lot of things happening that we once would have considered highly unusual..

OK, I thought that you deferred to February. At least you are locked in for a 2021. Looking forward to you getting your car.

Excuse my ignorance on the subject, but are the specialty performance models Z06, zora, ....going to be available in HTC also or just the fabulous coupe? Being that 2022 and beyond are not a dream that far away any more.

Would they ship or replace if hail damaged? I can't expect that they would "repair" and sell as new.

Oh I 100% think they would repair and sell as new if the damage is minimal. I worked at car dealerships and routine damage happens all the time and is not reported and just fixed by the body shop. Watch one of the latest Chevy Dude videos. Their lot attendant wrecked a new C8 and it required a lot of work. He said it would not be disclosed on Carfax and they were not discounting the car but were being upfront with the buyer. Buyer took it anyway at full price. I believe it was $3-5K in damage.

Sellers market.

A side note. Dealers buy used cars at auctions. Lots of those are from car rental agencies that are self insured. Therefore, no accidents or damage are reported on the cars history.

I'm talking about a brand new vehicle, not used. My friend purchased a GMC sierra 2 years ago and discovered that it had damage from an employee moving it around the lot before purchase. After discovering this fact ? 6-10 months later w apx 5,000 miles on it, he approached the dealership and received a 100% identical replacement at N/C.

Does anybody live close to the plant that can say if the plant and the cars in back were effected by the hail storm?

I looked at WBKO TV Station website in Bowling Green. It makes no mention of large scale storm damage, although there were some small isolated incidents

Just an update that there are no numbers yet. I saw one person who indicated they were trying to get info from the concierge, but their system was currently down. So, it's possible that things may be later than normal. Which is nothing new to us...

Thanks, we all appreciate the information. Hopefully none of the employees or cars were impacted by the hail and the storm.

Yes brand new. Damage happens all the time in transit and on dealer lots and on test drives. Most dealers repair it and sell it as new and it won’t show up on a Carfax. Watch the Chevy Dude video. Not reported on Carfax and sold for full MSRP as brand new. At least he disclosed that the car had received body damage and repair/paint work. This is common in the car industry from GM to BMW to Porsche.

Further reading seems to indicate another Saturday of "computer maintenance", so it may be Monday before we find out the numbers from yesterday. If you were one of those who were hoping your car was built yesterday, here's something I posted in another thread that may help:
Well, there are a couple other "sources" for some idea of what was built yesterday: MM and Kerbeck's order list. MM doesn't update on Saturday (boo!) but it looks like Kerbeck does. Their highest VIN at 3800 is 8585, which was in the range likely to be built yesterday, which if correct, means at least 157 were made. If your VIN is less than that, it's very likely it was completed yesterday. If it's higher, you'll either have to wait, or find another source of info....Hope that helps!
I'll post the numbers when I can find them. If someone else finds them first, please feel free to post them, and I'll happily update the spreadsheet.
