The OTA updates had nothing to do with the issues he was having with his car. He clearly states the performance shop that did his mods removed and lost the safety release button panel for the frunk, therefore, the vehicle was sensing the frunk being open & limiting the speed - as it's supposed to do. The OTA frunk update limiting the speed to 26 mph did exactly what it was supposed to do because again, he was missing the safety release button panel. He also claims his car was "being held hostage" at the dealership & that he had been calling for 5 hours without getting a hold of anyone. Why not simply drive down to the dealership - just drama for his channel. You can then clearly see a check engine light illuminated as he's driving and the car goes into limp mode & he either can't understand why or pretends to not understand why the car is driving that way. His car wasn't "bricked" as he claimed, and I'm sure the twin turbo install without a tune, and the shop that couldn't even put his car back together properly has nothing to do with the issues he's experiencing - but blame it on GM & software updates to generate clicks.
I lost that lovin feeling also. I waited 455 days for my C8 HTC to be built. I wasn't very excited about getting the car right up until I drove the car away and I fell in love again. I love the C8 HTC. I drive it almost every day. It gets tons of attention. Stay the course and take delivery.
Sleep on it. I recently sold my 2004 C5 Z06 with a Lingenfelter engine and have a fair bit of track time in C6's and C7's. They were all good cars, but the C8 I got recently (finally!) has really knocked my socks off. It's a great vehicle, quite astounding at its price point. I could not be happier with my purchase. The C8 is a polished high performance vehicle with a ton of well-thought-out electronic gadgetry and a pleasing interior, good on the track and even more satisfying on the street. My advice is, "Don't miss out."

Well said.
I've had a C5, C6 and still own a C7 and while i didn't drive a C8, i sat in it and really felt how much refined it is compared to the rest.
You really feel like you're sitting in something that costs well over 100k. Fit and finish, even when you shut the door it has a solid german THUD to it. Previous gens feel very cheap. Including the C7.
I also believe anyone with a C8 on order, even if it takes long, stay with it, because you already waited long enough for it.
Others who just placed their C8 order would do anything to be in a position to "almost" have their C8 in their driveway.
Move on to something else and let someone who really wants it buy it.
I have no idea why anyone would buy a car like the C8 and not really want it.
well....... here’s my story..... always had corvettes and loved to track them. Moved south gave up my 3rd garage and more important no tracks around here. Goal was to experience other cars before I die. Dealer friend calls a year ago...says I have an allocation...offers $x thousands off msrp. Cars sitting in Ohio landed last week. Frankly I’m not thrilled getting a 20 this late in the year.
Reached out to a reseller.....I can bag over 10k.
I’m flying to Ohio tomorrow and will see if I get that loving feeling. If not will drive the car to a friends garage and sell it.

We’re all different.
but certainly a first world problem.
like I said move on to something else.
There are guys on here who have been waiting over a year for their dream car and then you post that you lost that loving feeling.
What’s the purpose of your post? Do you like attention? Do you want others to envy your situation?
do us all a favor and move on.
perhaps its the busy year end, the winter weather, or some other thing. my excitement has faded. i am cued to take delivery late january. order is in but still time to make changes. i lost the love. should i forge ahead, cancel, or find someone to take it off my hands at a small markup.
thoughts......
p.s., not new to the brand, have owned 9 already but skipped c7 entirely.
Mine was scheduled to be built (it had actually started) when they closed the plant for the 2 month COVID shut down. I stayed at home and worked and was pretty depressed. I told several people that the whole COVID thing had brought me so far down, I was going to pass on my car, I don't need it and it was a waste of money. I came out of it and in early July it arrived. It has been the greatest automotive purchase of my life (among other Corvettes, Porsches, and AMG MBs), I am SO glad I went through with it and took delivery. Obviously do what you want, but just because you've owned other older Corvettes, don't believe for a second they compare, they don't.
C8 is a car like no other. A family with the germans IMHO, with some italian flavor.
C7 and prior are lego cars in comparison. Botched together just to make a sale. Sorry to say but it's true.
There was actually thought and proper engineering for the C8. That's why everyone is jumping on board. People who NEVER owned a corvette in their life. People who have actual expensive supercars and exotics are interested. GM did it right this time.
Modified with twin turbo's and no ecu updates to address it, with forgotten parts from the rebuild and broken connectors from the modifications, and its Chevy's fault. Ok.

Having the same thoughts here so your post is timely. Just told my wife last night in fact that I'm getting tired of waiting as we still sit at 1100 status. We asked ourselves if we should we buy more real estate, fund some other investment, etc.? Seems the older I get (currently 46) the more I like the passive income, makes retirement that much closer. I appreciate the comments throughout the thread.

At your age with those considerations---consider not getting it. In my early 30s I passed on buying a new BMW Convertible. Which I could afford. I bought a new Corolla instead (I know--amazing huh lol). Well, the savings on JUST THAT DECISION....I invested the savings....allows me to buy FOUR new 3LTs today if I want to. I have an order I'm waiting on like everyone else.
Deferred gratification.
If you really want to buy a C8 now--go for it! If you're not 100% excited about it---pass on it--buy a Ferrari, Lambo, and C9/C10 with the invested savings when you turn 65. You'll have fun then.
I don't understand these "I cant think for myself, please tell me what to do" threads. Are there really that many people out there that cant simply figure out what they want and make a decision? Sorry, but this mindset is just completely foreign to me.
