I used the Adams Graphene DIY ceramic coating on my daily driver, and did the windshield (outside) as well. I didn't notice any difference for daily driving, but then when it rained, I noticed that the water beaded up and slid off the windshield when driving; more than it did before; so I didn't need to turn on my wipers as much. I have no idea how long it'll last on glass, though. I'm sure it can't hurt if you live somewhere where it's going to rain a lot or snow. The coating might help with water/snow removal.

What happens when part of the ceramic coating is worn off, and you need to remove the rest? Ceramic coating removal generally requires abrasives. That sounds like a bad idea on a windshield.

You need to use the coatings made for glass. They will describe the use in the bottles.

Opticoat makes a good one lasts over a year (found that while looking for a more permanent solutionto rain x which wears down quick). It's expensive though. But it's like rain x on steroids.

Just got to make sure you wipe it off at 2 minute mark.. they warn you.. let's just say you won't need to hut the gym for a day or two if you get distracted and try after 5 minutes.

You simply take 5 minutes and put another coat on. It's actually easier than a Rain-X application. I applied my Graphene ceramic coat to EVERY exterior part of my C8, excluding the tires,

Outside of windshield = good, inside of windshield is relatively pointless.

You can get less durable 'sealants' or dedicated glass coatings that do nicely over the long haul. The one we have on our C7 was done in 04/2019 and is doing well but only has 6000 miles (Spring, Summer, Fall) and sees daily use during those months.

Time isnt the biggest enemy of glass coatings, wiper use (friction) wears em down more. It's nice to drive through rain with no need for wipers...entertains too.

Have used 5 or 6 looking for the best balance for my needs, further detail on each here if interested: https://budgetplan1.wordpress.com/gl...Glass_Coatings

Removal is easy, little bit of light polish on foam pad, done by hand...quick and effective.

That said, my daily driver in NE Ohio gets a less durable, more frequently applied sealant in Winter as constant wiper/washer use in daily 70 mile freeway commute will diminish even the best glass coating.

I thought maybe putting it on the inside would help prevent the film that forms or make it easier to clean.

Ya never know, I've never given it a go with a dedicated glass coating but may be worth a try with an easily applied spray sealant.

I use Polish Angel Diver on my interior glass, mostly because it's the easiest I've used to clean interior glass without, uh...incident and it doesn't really appear to make the glass stay any cleaner over time.

I second this!

I applied AvalonKing's ceramic coating on the windshield, and the windshield glass became very hydrophobic, as raining water just become droplets and being blown away when driving on the freeway, exactly like the RainX effect. I just posted this yesterday - see my post with photos in this thread: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...tion-film.html
