I was filling up at a gas station. On the other side a suv, was doing the same. The girl Passenger in the truck asked the gas attendant. What kind of car is that. The attendant said. A Ferrari. I said no it’s a corvette. The drivers of the truck said bullshit I know Corvette’s. And that’s not one, the motors in the back. Corvette motors are in the front.
I said please come over a look at the badges. He did. And was like holly ****. Is the some type of prototype. I said no it a stock 2020. They are all this way.
Picked mine up on Dec 1, 2020 and have been 17 states and over 4,000 miles. I’ve had new and exciting C6’s a gorgeous C7 and now a Torch Red C8. I understand what you are saying. Many Corvette owners who have not experienced this incredible car may find your story hard to believe. I know first hand that it is how some people react to this. Versions of this have been replayed over and over wherever we go. From a popular standpoint GM has hit it out of the park and you can take that to the bank.
Not my most common comment, but perhaps my favorite: from my wife's 10 year old nephew in Beverly Hills "WOW that is the most awesome car ever! Why does it have a Chevrolet logo on it?"

It does? I never seen the bow tie emblem on any of my corvettes.
I drove my Sister In Law's Mercedes G-500 from CA to the Southeast years ago.
The further along I went the more people commented on it, many having never seen one in person.
I'll bet I was asked twenty different times "what is that"?
Quite the change coming from South Orange County CA where BMW's are called Newport Chevy's and Tesla's are all over the place. Changes in attitude, changes in Latitude and all that Jazz.
As far as my C8 HTC goes, I only have 135 miles on it, most driving back home from the Dealer. Stopped to eat along the way and people in the parking lot were all over it. I was asked if it was a Ferrari or a Lambo. It's Black with the 2LT Natural Interior, GT2 Seats.

^^^^ Most on here are car enthusiasts who, hopefully, will encourage each other to enjoy our vettes and share info, etc. Then there are a few who will diss on fellow vette owners over their personal choices of color, options, etc. - sometimes repeating themselves over and over. Haters got to hate I guess.

Thanks. I was worried all my hard work was in vain.

yah, but it’s fun to troll once in a while ......
And some of us, unlike you, chose to sit in the back of class at school and kept busy by throwing paper airplanes around and kept occupied by shooting spit ***** thru straws at others out of boredom.
Nice can be real boring !!

Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
