Hate to say it TXFlyGuy but I think your Mustang is probably better looking than your C8 will be, which is saying a lot (but maybe not). What engine is in your Titan? I built and fly a Pietenpol Aircamper with a 2.7 liter Corvair engine, not an LS or LT but still a chevy.
That is awesome! Do you fly it much?
I think the Mustang will look good with the C8 next to it! In...Silver!
I haven't seen Silver Flare in person however, I did order an HTC in that color with Adrenaline Red interior, bright red calipers, carbon flash roof and wheels. I had a 2020 Blade Silver Coupe with that combo and thought it was really sharp!
I had never seen silver flare in person up close so I went to see it on Saturday . It has a lot of character and more depth than blade silver(I have a Caddy in radiant silver same color as blade silver and silver ice on the truck below). After seeing it live,, no pictures do silver flare justice. Crazy car girl’s pics and the silver bullet thread pic are close but cameras don’t seem to catch the true color like seeing it live. Silver flare pops more in this lighting and up close has flake of gold, blue, and chrome/titanium. Needless to say I am very happy with decision. Here is the pic. Looks closer to the same than they really are and not the best comparison.
Ordering the same specs in a coupe. Thanks for the picture looks great.
Is it my imagination, or does the Silver Flare Metallic morph into white under certain lighting conditions? I have only seen the pictures here, plus on YouTube.
Ok...my mind was made up on Torch Red. Until I started seeing photos of the Silver Flare Metallic.
Red is by far the most popular, with 25% of total sales.
My wife likes the Silver, which is very important!
Will this color hold up well in the re-sale market? Does everyone really want an "arrest me red" car?
A photo of a new C8 in the silver, on this forum, is gorgeous!
Plus a silver C8 would look way cool parked next to my T-51D Mustang.
This is mine. Good representation of actual color in bright sun. Nothing like the press pic. Love the car!

Having just got my SF C8 two weeks ago your picture is the best match of its 'presentation' yet on this forum. Your description of the various 'tints' to the basic/underlying silver is spot on. I have parked my C7 Z in BS side by side (in the sun and shade) and I love them both...different yes but both great. I had originally 'ordered' my 2020 C8 in BS but just missed the last allocation and was really bummed. But now I welcome the SF with just a big of a smile when I open my garage door.
Thanks,
Michael

Reason: Typo
I’m between artic white and rapid blue right now. My issue with silver is that with all of the body lines on the c8 and the still “not always so great” paint quality, I’m afraid there will be color differences on body panels. For instance where the rear bumper meets the rear fenders, in almost every picture, I’ve seen a different color tone on the two different panels. It’s the most pronounced on silver cars, with every manufacturer. I had a new silver 350z that could have been called Fifty shades of grey.
Both the front and rear bumpers matched really well (coming from an owner of a handful of silver cars). The fuel door is the body part where most pictures posted and the car I saw reflected differently than the rear quarter panel. It must be hard to get the flake to lay correctly. The paint was good with some small orange peel spots (not a big deal, I would be happy with it) No car paint is going to be perfect in mass production.
After four plus years of a love/hate relationship with my mosiac black metallic Camaro ZL1 (love it right after a wash, hate it after driving it 500 yards), I wanted my Corvette in a low maintenance color other than white.
My original 2020 order was for ceramic matrix gray metallic but I changed to silver flare when I re-ordered for 2021. The ceramic matrix gray looked too light blue for my taste under certain lighting conditions.
I couldn’t be happier with the change to sfm. You have to see the color in person to really appreciate it. And best of all it doesn’t show the dust like most other colors do.
I went the carbon flash roof, nacelles, side-mirrors,and body trim as a contrast the silver.

i see it in every single picture on this thread. It’s something I just can’t unsee.
hawk02 - That car is drop dead gorgeous! And I like the silver wheels with that body color. They go well together. I spend a lot of time in Ohio (I see you are there), but near Cleveland as my T-51D Mustang is at Northeast Ohio Regional Airport (KHZY).
My order was initially Torch Red...but making the switch to SFM.

I'm not so certain that someone who is paying close to 100 grand for a car, a true American Classic, is going to be satisfied with a paint job that does not look perfect.
Are Corvettes not more of a custom type, built by hand automobile? Or are they built on a high speed assembly line, just like a Chevy Malibu?
Certainly those working in Bowling Green take a great deal of pride in their work?

Thank you, TXFlyGuy. I was born and raised in Columbus. Graduated from Ohio State and worked at the Medical Center for almost 40 years.
You won’t be disappointed with the switch from Torch Red to Silver Flare. It has exceeded all my expectations.
I agree with you that the silver wheels look good with the silver color. I like the silver wheels better than black wheels with silver. I put a deposit down on a set of HRE FF11s in their liquid metal color. I think they will really make my C8 pop. I have HRE FF04s on my Camaro ZL1 and love them.
It depends on if you want a true silver, SF isn't. Depending on light...sometimes a light beige hue also. The 2020 silver popped and was a true silver
I’ve owned 5 silver metallic cars in the past, this color isn’t really silver. Kinda reminds me of the C5 pewter, which I thought was awful on a Corvette (and Camaro for that matter).

I would like the paint should be perfect but i don't except it to be like a car that has been wet sanded. In general, the paint seems to be better than it was on c7's. . Take a look at a Mercedes s class, Porsche etc. Some of the paint jobs are terrible. Our friends ordered a new Cayenne and he asked me what to do since the paint was so bad (heavy orange peel). I told him I would bring it back and tell them you want a new build or to fix it (their dealers response was the EPA puts so many restrictions in place about solvents, it is what it is). All I have to say Porsche is off my list.
There is a Zeus bronze I have seen on the forum that has heavy orange peel by the liscence plate which would be unacceptable to me. That has been the exception I have seen so far.

High-speed assembly line cranking out close to 180 a day I think I saw somewhere. They’re painted by robots & do a quick search there are already a good chunk of owners who have had issues with the paint on the C8.

Just for comparison, the Ford Willow Run Plant churned out a B-24 (4 Engine Heavy Bomber), every 54 minutes.

I can tell you that in person SFM does not look pewter.
Here’s blade silver top photo and my silver flare bottom. I personally think blade silver look more gray than it does silver.
