No way they're going back to front engine. Tadge said the C7 was the end of the front engine as the platform couldn't be enhance to take the car any further to get the performance they wanted. The sales of the mid engine corvette have set records and won numerous awards and will be the first factory right hand drive Corvette to boost international sales. GM has a real winner with the mid engine layout.

It'll be a front engine electric with manual shift satisfying both the front engine and manual shift crowd. Win-win.

I read that one of the primary reasons for doing this is to create more space up front so they can again fit an 8-track player in the dash.
