Went to get gas and when I turned the car back on the screen was black. I was still hearing music streaming off my phone. Screen still doesn't turn on and car only has 160 miles. Any ideas?
Try rebooting first. Open the frunk, remove the trim panel, remove the Black/Negative/Ground cable from the battery. Wait a few minutes to allow any capacitor’s charge to bleed off. Reconnect the Black wire to the battery, replace the trim panel and close the frunk. If that didn’t work, back to the dealer you go!
Of all that could have happened, you were probably one of the more fortunate ones. If it won't "reboot" and won't come on by itself (simply another notorious glitch), it's off to the dealer and hope someone there has a clue. Good luck.
Mine went blank yesterday after startup after getting gas. Drove a few miles, went into a store, and it returned after startup ??
I have had this happen to me twice. All displays are blank and none of the control buttons/switches seem to work (climate controls, windows, etc).
I found that by depressing and releasing the start button quickly it all comes back ( works with the engine running too). It appears GM may have used that as a reset option.
I had the reverse. Screen was on but no sounds. Turns out that for some reason the OTA update that I did fried the Boze amplifier. In the process of fixing it the PDR broke. After that, the car has been perfect.
I had a similar problem. When I drove into the garage, the headlights came on and the front cameras wouldn't work (black display). The instrument cluster showed a very simplistic display with only speed and fuel level. I was wondering whether something was broken, but looking into the manual this is what is supposed to happen if the instrument panel lighting **** above the parking brake is turned all the way to the left, for minimum distraction for night driving. Turned it a bit to the right and everything is fine. Sometimes it really helps to read the manual.
I had this happen on my initial ride home from the dealer. After about 10 minutes it mysteriously came on again and I have never had an issue with it since.
Information and Heads Up Display Systems gone Black
2021 Corvette Convertible - I have had the DIC and Heads up display systems go blank while I was driving. In the most recent case, I pulled off to the side of the road and photographed the DIC and Head's Up display. The only info on the DIC was the message about "Auto Raising". I then turned the car off. When I restarted it, the screens were still blank but the message on the DIC right was "You are Driver 1 for Memory Purposes" I made an appointment to have it checked out and provided the photographs and circumstances. After checking it, the dealer response was "there were no error codes". Apparently, error codes or lack thereof overrides photographic proof. Any thoughts or suggestions? Went blank during driving. Went blank during driving Photo after shutdown and restart
I've posted this a few times before but worth another post.
As cars now days are run by computers, they sometimes need to be "rebooted" so to speak just like many other electronic devices. I found out how to to this from this video. First, start the car. Shut the car off. Then open the drivers side door for 90 seconds (and you have to have it open for no less than 90 seconds). Close door, start the car and the computer cache has now been reset, hopefully taking care of any electronic gremlins one might be having. Watch the video using the link below at the 1:44:46 mark.
Went out yesterday, beautiful day for a convertible, 87 and sunny, drove about an hour and everything was fine. 2023 HTC…3700 miles.. Car was parked for about an hour, started it up and drove about 30 minutes, everything was fine. Parked again for 45 minutes, got in the car, put the roof down and the whole instrument panel was blank….nothing…drove away (with no speedometer) decided to try the hud and it appeared,,..at least I could see my speed…then all of a sudden the alert code 506 appeared on the dash and it would not reset….anybody have any idea what it means ????
