Default Les Stanford Order Wait Time

I’m new to this forum and this is my first post but was wondering how long you waited for your C8 purchased from Les Stanford Chevrolet in Dearborn Michigan. I placed my deposit with them on 10/2/19 which was 20 months ago and have been at order status 3000 for the last 30 days. I know there have been production delays but believe they have moved other orders ahead of me. Just curious if I’m being hosed or not. Appreciate any on-site you can provide. Thanks, Larry

Once your at 3000 your at the mercy of the Bowling Green plant. Lots of things, such as color and options, can determine build date, but many people are waiting 60-90 days at 3000.

The plant is shutdown again next week, so you might see some continued delays.

We were 10/1/2019. Stanford was rumored to having 650 allocations for 2020, and we were ~675. Stanford placed our order against a 2021 allocation (1100) on 11/24/2020. We were told we might make it to 2000/3000 in January; but missed it by 6. We are currently at 3000 with 2021 order #327 in Workbench, with a tentative TPW from Shane of 6/7. We know that we are locked in at the current price and it will be built prior to the 2022's in August. Other than that, we continue to swing with the punches, get back up and keep fighting.

My deposit was 15 Aug 2019, #471. I got my car 15 Mar 21. Yours was not the only order that went ahead of mine. I know of one order (in another LS thread) around #650 that went ahead of both of us. Nothing on my order was ever on the constraint list. Still a little peeved about this.

Is the numbering they give you per MY? I put down my deposit Feb 16 2021 and was told I was 868... had been told to expect 14+ months... just kind of wondering how much stock I should put into the estimate... :-)

I was told you keep your place in line even if you go into a new model year.

Default Les Stanford wait time

I much appreciate the replies from you all! I don’t see an option to reply to each of you individually so will post a generalized response. It would appear most of us have waited far too long for their C8 but those that placed a deposit earlier than me have received delivery snd that’s encouraging. Several of you are in about the same time line and are still waiting for delivery. I haven’t received any reply’s that leads me to believe their order has been move ahead of anyone else which surprises me. Les Stanford said I’m order 670 and MAY see delivery this June which will put me at a wait of about 20 months. This has me very frustrated but as they say, it is what it is. Thinking I may have done better by leaving my deposit with a different dealer. At this point I only hope that there are no more production delays. I’m currently driving a Camaro ZL1 which I plan on selling when/if my C8 is delivered so at least I’m still having fun!

From what I understand the numbering does change if you end up rolled over from a previous MY, so your current 2021 MY number shouldn't be comparable to mine or anyone else that originally deposited for 2020.

I can't really speak definitively on why some people may end up ahead on orders, but my understanding is that if you aren't finalized in the system when they're pulling allocations you could end up getting skipped. This is up to your salesman.

There's a button called either "Multi" or "Multi Quote" at the bottom right of every post. Just press that on each post you want to quote. Then press "Reply to Thread" at the bottom of the thread and all your quotes will copy into that new reply window.

Hi, I’m local(Detroit). My order is through Buff Whelan, Sterling Heights. Original order submitted 11/20. I just advanced from 3000 to 3400, last week. I was told all parts are available, waiting for production. I expect an additional week delay, concerning the 115 cars, damaged in the tornado.

Some have been able to get their cars very quickly from smaller dealers. That is NOT the norm, though … it is being in the right place at the right time. The current market conditions make that virtually impossible. My own experience has been that the only dealers promising quick delivery will make you pay dearly for that, and are likely selling someone else's allocation to you for a premium. IMHO slow and steady is still the wisest course of action. I personally have walked away from several dealers who were selling early allocations for thousands of dollars over the MSRP. The bigger dealers are pretty much straight up … send a refundable deposit and get on their waiting list for a 10-14 month build.
