New recall 3 June airbag light
Manufacturer Recall NumberN212338110
NHTSA Recall NumberAWAITING#
Recall StatusRecall IncompleteSummaryGeneral Motors has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2021 model year Buick Envision vehicles; Cadillac CT4, CT5, Escalade, and Escalade ESV vehicles; Chevrolet Corvette, Suburban, and Tahoe vehicles; and GMC Yukon and Yukon XL vehicles. A software problem exists in certain of these vehicles which would cause a sensing diagnostic module (SDM) communications fault to illuminate the airbag malfunction indicator lamp, but only on alternating ignition cycles. As a result, an SDM communications fault would not consistently illuminate the airbag light on every ignition cycle to indicate a problem to the driver.

OP, where did you get this? GM Recall site? NHTSA? My VIN shows no recalls at both places.

More software nonsense from GM. What happened to over the air software fixes?

OTA updates... sounded like a good idea at the time.

Seems this issue is being jumped on quickly and should be easy enough to fix.

Airbag Light Recall Notice
I got the below recall notice via OnStar today while out driving my 21 HTC. It appears it can be done via Over The Air updates, but I wasn't able to get it to load. I'm taking the car to the dealer anyway so I will have them check this out also.

Has anyone tried and gotten the OTA to work? The car didn't advise me about this but my CarFax app did.

22 Hypersonic Grey HTC
I did this airbag light OTA update a couple days ago on my 2021 C8 and it worked and installed with no issues.

I also received the update and it went off with out a hitch.

I received the update notice and was a little apprehensive about installing it. Updated with no problems but was prepared for the worst. Sure hope GM fixes these OTA updates soon. Nothing like Russian Roulette on a Sunday morning...

When there's an update notice, does it state why the update is necessary?
