OK.... Lots of questions / issues have been posted in regard to C8 DCT issues / problem. So how many as a percentage of delivered C8s here / are experiencing a "problem". Let's do a survey!

7,500 miles with zero issues on my 2020. I don't miss the manual in my C7 Z06, as much as I liked it. This DCT is fast and fun. Obviously, some have had issues but the vast majority have not.
My vote was:
YES I had a DCT problem that is now fixed
@ 4,200 miles, the Main Valve Body was replaced on my 2021 (mid-January build)
I drove the car to the dealer for the warranty work and it was there one week
Now @ 6,800 miles with no other issues.
I will still change the DCT filter @ 7,500 miles to keep up with the owner's manual current maintenance schedule on the DCT filter replacement.
I had an unusual problem which existed from the time I took delivery. When I came to a complete stop, the car would jerk once, and sometimes twice. The shop foreman at my dealer took a ride with me, admitted he had never seen a car do this, contacted GM and was told to do what is called a transmission clean. I have no idea as to what that is. The next day I dropped the car off in the morning and picked it up that afternoon. This was 5000 miles ago and the tranny is perfect.
This survey shows a typical pattern, but still slanted toward problems in public forums. People "need" to express their issues and problems, but few have a need to constantly say or repeat that all is well.
However, that doesn't make the problems extant any less serious or their resolve any less important. I once overheard a major auto corporate attorney speaking to a local attorney in a Southern airport lounge about a wrongful death case in which the corporate lackey actually said--yes, I heard it, he wasn't quiet about it--that it was far cheaper to make a rare court decreed payment than fix untold vehicles. Pitiful, but true. I hope everyone the best with their C8s (and, others, of course, as well).
Yes, I had a transmission replaced because it was leaking fluid through the casing and it was replaced. I do believe that there will be many more cars without any issues whatsoever.
All of you who have friends with a C8 in real life who aren't on the forums, please get them to make an account and reply. I am super curious to see the results from a representative sample.
My instinct tells me that this is NOT the usual case of people who have problems with their car being louder than those who don't (which is a real thing). It appears more likely that there are some issues to be worked out with this transmission.
But the only way to really know is to get a large enough dataset.
Last week my c8 which is 10 months and 8k miles on it wouldnt start as the dashboard said it wasnt in park but it was.
i disconnected the battery and the car realized it was in park and started. That was last saturday morning. This saturday night same thing happened.
unfortunately i disconnected the battery to start the car and onstar no has no codes after disconnecting the battery...
could be a miscommunication error as the car drives fine. Ill bring it to the dealer in a few days and hopefully a few codes will show up otherwise how will the GM tech know where to begin.

You might consider getting a OBDLink MX. Makes it pretty easy to capture any codes. I thought some of these codes were stored in a Serial EEPROM type device or NVRAM device, so battery shouldn't matter.
I am pretty sure the DTC's from the TCM are stored in NVRAM, mine are as they are "permanent" and will survive a battery disconnect.
I haven't received my C8 yet, pick it up on Friday. Hopefully I will be one of the lucky ones. The dealership I bought my C8 from had two C8's in their service bay with failed transmissions the day I paid for mine.

The odds are you will be fine. Just get it through the break-in period properly.
No 0-60 speed runs. No cruise control. No lugging the engine. (I think I would avoid fully manual shifting until out of the break-in period personally). No exceeding 4000rpm. No fixed RPM running. I put mine in sport / manual when driving longer roads to prevent it from running in 8th gear all the time and sitting at a relatively fixed RPM, then I used paddle shifters to down shift often to vary the revs. After a while it would go back to auto-drive and make it's way back into 8th gear.
I am at 1700mi and still haven't done any sort of launch control or PTM stuff. I have had a couple "spirited" runs up to 75mph though.
