How does a new owner of a C8 be informed about the class as GM Canada says nothing and tells a new owner nothing ? If I didn't read the Forum I would not have a clue. Did your dealer tell you, did Gm write you etc??? It kind of sounds like the model that some get and others have never heard of.
thanks
It might be only a USA-only offer - the flyer is in the package of docs with the car.
It is only for the 1st new owner of a 2020-2023 C8.
The flyer says the class is discounted from ~USD$3695 to USD$1000 (subsidized by GM)
Just got back. Had a great time and learned a lot. Since I live in California and am retired I was able to take almost any date they had an opening. I got a date two weeks out as someone canceled. In fact there was an open seat in our class. So if you can handle it, ask about taking a standby date instead of having to wait 6 months or whatever the current wait time is.
I signed up two days ago and April is almost gone.
Cripes - I only counted 10 slots in April 2023 and there are no slots yet offered for May 2023.
And everything October 2022 to March 2023 appear to be full "Call for Availability"
Wow!
They had been running 2 classrooms at a time. Now they're increasing to 3 at a time. 18 students each. ( I think that's already in the schedule.) Given how much work is done by the instructors and mechanics behind the scenes, I think they do an outstanding job doing this many.
The Holiday Inn Express in Pahrump is nice enough, surely the nicest hotel in the city (though I would bet some of the snowbird RV's parked there would outclass the hotel). It's where you might end up, our third-class group most were in the hotel. It was actually nice to get off property and out to explore the booming metropolis of Pahrump.
I'll be going back for Level 2 sometime next year, no doubt.
I went three weeks ago and it is a fantastic experience as everyone says. The quality of the instructors is the biggest advantage in my opinion. Over the two days I probably interacted with 5-6 instructors. I assumed that one would be better than the others but they were all very professional and great instructors. Facilities are great and they cover a lot in a two day period. I was the only person in my class to order the 36x24 acrylic poster from the professional photographer. It is pricey at $500 but well worth it in my opinion. It arrived a few days ago and I love it and will allow me to remember this great class.
agree totally. I also got the 36x24… but my price was about 50% higher than yours. Still worth every penny!

I went in 2018, and my wife just returned from one of Mike Furman's customer classes on October 2-3. Neither of us had a particularly comfortable experience in the Spring Mt. "condos." I couldn't sleep well due to the ancient, loud and buzzy, old-school room air conditioner located under the window next to the bed, and there is no comfortable place to sit other than on the bed. My wife experienced this same problem this week. If we go again, we won't stay in the "condos" unless they do some upgrades. We've given them feedback on this, and others who feel the same should provide feedback. Maybe that will give them the ammo they need to spend a little money on a few decent sitting chairs and quiet HVAC.
I did Levels 1 and 2 back in 05-06 before the condos were built, before the Ron Fellows owner's classes started, and everyone stayed in a hotel, which was very comfortable. It's only a short drive to the track.
That is the one and only thing either of us could complain about. Everything else about the class, instructors, and Spring Mt. facility is 1st class.
