That is a picture of a Lamborghini Gallardo. Only the flagship Lamborghini Aventador have Lambo doors.
Close. Only V12 Lamborghini’s get the vertical doors. That’s how you can tell the engines apart. This is not just a current generation thing either. Past and future replacements follow this rule.
And to answer the thread’s question, nothing looks more tacky than vertical doors on a Corvette. If you want a supercar, save up a little more and buy a McLaren. (Just keep the fire extinguisher close)
Lambo Doors Survey Results from Car & Driver, Road & Track
Just a data point to think about... Car & Driver.com on May 2020 posted an announcement of the "Lambo" or Scissor doors on the C8. The article included a live survey of reader's preferences. The question was, "Would you get scissor doors on your C8 Corvette?' The results were 68% responded "No Way." Minority of 32% responded "Heck Yes."
Road & Track.com had a similar article and survey on their website in June, 2020. The survey question they asked was, "Would you install scissor doors on your C8 Corvette?" The responses were 64% chose "No Way." 36% selected, "Yes, this is exactly the type of kit I've been waiting for."
Readers of Road & Track and Car & Driver are sports car people. A large majority disapproved of the "Lambo" or scissor door modification.
I think it kills resale value as there is a limited demand for lambo doors on a vette. I grew up in the 80's and can understand the fascination, but for the cost, it doesnt seem worth it. Unless you are part of the 3 commas club.
The ones at Carlisle (White one pictured above) cost $4200 installed from Oeikon
Lifetime warranty (Which probably means as long as they are in business) and they come to your house to install
I thought i saw an installation video for the Eikon doors and they were NOT reversible?
Looks like they were cutting the fender area and wouldn't be able to reverse that later. Maybe you can buy a new fender to put it back to stock?

Strange too, imagine selling a scissor door kit for the vette going off of these numbers and then nobody really does. I have never seen one of these kits in the wild.

When we where at Carlisle, the installer said his where reversible. He showed a pad with the original parts that go back with the customer.
The cost to reverse the doors cost almost as much as the install, thus he said to just leave the doors.
Agreed. There's no shortage of C8's for sale used so altering the car in such a taste-specific way will greatly reduce the resale.
One would literally need to find a buyer who is looking for a C8 with lambo doors. A dealer would probably use it as an excuse to beat you up on price.
I beg to disagree, I had a non chain dealer give me 13k over what i paid for my 2020 shelby new, with mods.
if its tastefully done, there is always a market for it
I like the look of them and the install looked professional at Corvettes at Carlisle but does anyone have any long term experience with these doors, do they hold up, resale etc??
it doesn't matter what other people think, if you like vertical doors, by all means , by vertical doors. what matters is what you think / like!!!!
If the doors have to fully swing open before they swing up what is the purpose of this?
I have seen some videos of the Eikon doors opening. You can see that they do not have to FULLY open horizontally before swinging upwards.
Maybe 50% horizontal opening first is required?
This is partially what concerns me. Does their kit prevent you from damaging your door in any way when you swing it upward? Will it let you attempt to swing it upward when something would hit another body panel?
