Default Alternatives to Quick-Jack 5000-EXT

I've read a lot of posts regarding Quick-Jack and I know that the best product for the job is the 5000-EXT. And I've seen posts that you could get away with the 5000-SLX, but without using all 4 factory jacking points. Given you can't seem to get your hands on the 5000-EXT right now, I was looking to see if any other options would work. And I haven't been able to find a definitive answer on the other options.

Can anyone confirm that any of these options work (with the proper factory mount points):
- 5000 SLX w/ SLX Frame Extensions
- 7000 SLX w/ SLX Frame Extensions
- 6000 XLT (even though this is also hard to find right now)

Can't confirm any one model / combination on your list but I had my C8 up all day yesterday on a 7000 EXT => I also own a 5300 lb suv for which it works for too.

I think people have posted that with the frame extensions, the Quickjacks won't fit under a C8 with pucks installed. Not positive, though. Search the forum for Quickjack or extensions and you'll probably find some threads about that.

Depends what you need to do. May not be for you BUT for someone who wants to keep spending down and needs less storage room this may be helpful. I've changed brake pads, installed side skirts, AC Condenser screens, Splitter: without a lift or things like Quick-Jack. Have changed oil in my two C7's as well three prior Vettes. In addition, have ~1000 hours building my street rod and it was up on stanchions for several months. Safe while I fabricated the exhaust, trans cooler, wiring etc etc.

Here are some pics:
Changed oil in my 2 C7's using home made light wheel stanchions and jack stands. Cost for stanchions ~$10 each! Would do my C8 lifting only rear with wheels on stanchions BUT found a great Corvette tech who just did my 1st oil change and DCT filter (which required him to plug into GM computer to perform required trans flush before removing filter!)

Have 12 inch high stanchions I used for my street rod while under construction. Can buy something similar from Race Ramps. It takes a two step lift so seldom use them now. Rod is ~20 years old.

I changed my brake pads without removing calipers BUT suggest doing so is safer re possible damage to dust boots. Stanchions under lower "A" arm worked fine.

Poster showed what he used to lift higher and remove calipers. There are two types of devices that jack at GM lift point AND slip in after as jack stands. Detail of what poster used in lower pic.

For installing side skirts my two home made stanchions worked fine. Need room to drill rivet holes and not sure required clearence on ramp lift or Quick Jack Here plenty of clearence!

Stanchions under both front wheels to install Splitter and AC Condenser mesh.

You simply don't need a EXT. I have used my 7000SLX many times. I have also had my wife hop into the car while up on the QJ. The weight bias of the car is significantly to the rear and the fact the front jack point is an an inch or so behind the jack pad insert makes 100% no difference. Just look at a car that fell off a lift, it is the rear jack point that is so critical and with a standard SLX you ALWAYS use the rear jack point. I have had the car up and both front wheels off and the car is as solid as if it's on the ground.
