Default C8 Borla exhaust problems

AFM valves not opening correctly. Any solutions. Chevy dealer install and used GM code to reset. Love the sound.

joe - curious. What is or isn't taking place? I myself have Borla installed by dealership and have not noted any issue and been able to cycle through each setting - weather, tour, sport and track and hear the difference in each.

Hi! I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with our AFM valves. I brought this up to our Customer Service Manager and was told you've already reached out regarding the warranty. If there's anything else you need please let us know! Of all the C8 systems we've shipped so far, this is the first case of a valve issue that we've seen. We will definitely be taking a close look into the matter. Thank you.

I have a cars 'n coffee friend that put your system on his new 21 HTC and had the identical same problem. I find it hard to believe that this one is the first you've experienced.

Hello! I spoke with our Customer Service Manager and confirmed that this has been the first valve issue that we've had to warranty and replace. Others we've seen were solved with the valve relearn at a GM Dealership, which we highly recommend doing. Has your friend gone to a GM Dealership for a valve relearn? If so and they are having issues, please tell them to contact us so that we can take care of them!

Default My Borla Atak Install Experience

I just had my Borla Atak installed yesterday on my 2021 Red Mist HTC non-Z51. Mine was installed and tuned by my local Chevy dealer and I have had no problems so far. My installer had never installed an exhaust system on a C8 and I pointed him to the programming code that is provided with the instructions and available on the Borla site. They took 5.5 hours to install and charged me for 4 hours since it was the installers first exhaust install on a C8 of which getting educated and reading the directions took additional time.. It was also quite a spectacle at the dealership with many of the other technicians and staff excited to see the install and hear the final product.

I really wanted the carbon fiber tips but like many things in the US today they are on backorder for quite some time. Based on my slot in ordering it would have been December. I did managed to find 1 of 2 units available at Summit Racing and grabbed one even though it was with chrome tips. Immediately after receiving I took the tips over to my local Ceramic Pro Installer and had the tips Ceramic coated before the install.

This morning I had to remote start my car with the garage doors closed as I found the cold start is about 3 times as loud and the stock exhaust and did not want to wake the neighbors. In track mode the sound is deafening making my C8 and totally different experience. I'm tempted to drive past a few banks and set off their alarms. I'd love to post some audio but cell phone audio cannot do justice to the depth of the sound. I will still try to capture the sound and post it. Even in weather mode the sound has more definition than the stock exhaust in tour mode.. The pop of the system while shifting in the low gears and in downshifts is absolutely amazing. There is no mistaking this is a high performance car. The need for a radio with the exhaust is eliminated. All the driver wants to do is listen to the exhaust notes especially with the HTC back window open. Borla also seems to have reduced the heat factor in the back trunk over the stock. The car certainly makes a statement when driving down the freeway. It's fun watching the grade school boys go crazy when I gun the engine as they wait for the school bus. With its integration into the Performance Exhaust it sure is nice to have the flexibility to change exhaust tones based on the driving situation. To the guys who mentioned they had some issues with Borla, I think addressing the valve programming or reprogramming would be the first place to look. Once fixed you will be very happy, very happy.
