Since the C8 is new GM has certain codes that are proprietary. Its an easy install if done by a GM dealer.
Thanks for the info! If I ever go aftermarket exhaust I'll be sure to have it installed at a dealer. Surprised dealers are willing to install 3rd party stuff.

When the technician installing my Borla Exhaust came to work and saw the Borla equipment next to his stall he had a big smile on his face. He said to me "This is going to be a fun day." The guy was really excited to put on his first C8 exhaust. It must have been a welcomed variation from a traditional day. Again keep in mind that the local Chevy deal has to install the aftermarket exhaust since they have the programming codes. Overall I was charged $550 to install and program the exhaust at my chevy dealer. Once the car has been out on the market for a while I am told GM will release the programming codes to other installers

When you say "programming codes"do you mean the AFM valve relearn procedure?....I am ready to install my Fabspeed Valvetronic system and that's the only thing Fabspeed says I need to do at my local dealer..My car is a '20..the '21 involves a different procedure to keep the CEL from coming on.

Yes that is what I mean. It is simply a code to reprogram the valves. Technician told me its an easy procedure of simply programming the code into the car's computer. This also avoids the check engine light from triggering

I could be wrong but I think 'valve simulator' is something that tells the car there are exhaust valves when there are really none present. This avoids the CEL that the car would otherwise display, thinking the stock exhaust valves are faulty. Ciccio makes a valve simulator as well.

Thank you everyone for the responses. I decided to go with Borla. I will post some photos once the kit comes in and I get it installed.
