I know the big dealerships have waiting lists, but it seems like there's always a few smaller rural dealerships that end up with available allocations. Has anyone found a dealership with an extra available allocation recently?

If someone found it I'm sure they took it. You gotta put in some effort and start making calls.

Seconding this, good luck. I called 300 dealers within 300 miles of Chicago. I got #1 spot on a couple small lists but no allocations just inherently available at msrp. The two I found with current available allocations wanted >20k over. Honestly you probably wont have a ton of trouble finding some place that has an open allocation, but rather finding one that will give it to you at MSRP. Dog speed friendo.
I found that most small town Chevy dealers in the area in which I grew up don't sell or service Corvettes. I stopped by my hometown Chevy dealer (in a community of 14,000 people) early this year to ask about a C8 allocation and was told that they had stopped selling and servicing Corvettes many years ago ... wasn't worth the investment in tools and training. I was told that the best they could do if a Corvette owner needed repairs was to load the car on a flatbed and take it to the closest Corvette dealership 30 miles away.
You won't find this info shared, you just have to pick up the phone or start emailing. I've contacted around 80 dealerships via email, I keep a spreadsheet. Only 18 have gotten back to me, of those 18 only 2 were doing MSRP and they had single digit annual allocation numbers and wait lists. While you're calling you might as well be asking about a Z06. I got no responses when I followed up with the 2 MSRP dealerships about a Z06.
