We have included your original post below: Happy Wednesday! I order to not completely bother my dealer, I’ve been using the Chevrolet live customer service chat feature on my phone to check status updates on my order. I’ve been at 3000 status for a few weeks, although it feels like a year. The last few times I have chatted with them, they have happily checked my status and given me the current status code. Today, Brandon told me they cannot give out the status codes because that information is only for internal tracking purposes. I wonder if he is new at this, or if the policies have recently changed?
This has been reported before. Apparently some agents will give the status code and some won't. Frankly, I never contact Chevy Chat once during my entire order/build experience. However, I had the wonderful MacMulkin order tracking website available to track my order.
Make your dealer earn their hefty margin on your C8. They should be providing you with the information weekly.

I agree, except I’m too excited to only check-in weekly. I’m like an every 3rd day type of pest. Haha! In defense of my salesman, he’s a guy I have worked with for many years and he does claim to check my status every morning when he gets into the office. I guess maybe I’m trying to get new info before he does? I need to settle down a bit, I know. :-)

Totally. There is just no need for updates more frequently than weekly until you get to 3400. Even then, it really makes no difference. You'll get the car when it's delivered and no amount of checking will make that happen any sooner.
They have no clue. They keep telling me I’m at 3000 when I already have a build week. This is what I think they are told to say just to string people along.

The Concierge can't see TPW until status 3400. The NCM can see TPW at 3000. NCM needs to know TPWs so they can plan/schedule Build Photo Albums/NCM Deliveries.

Chevy Chat asked me if I wanted to be put on a weekly status email. I'm expecting one tomorrow and so far haven't moved from 3000, no TPW yet. That's good enough info for me--e

No great conspiracy here, it is just that their info, for some inexplicable reason, is not as current as other GM sources. You would think that they would be able to access the most current status but they often can't.
