Driving two nights ago, digital rearview mirror camera on (3LT coupe), and it seems that I can "see through" the digital display sometimes and get a glare off the vertical back interior window/rear glass, of car headlights behind me (it's like I am looking at the digital display and a normal rearview mirror simultaneously).
My eyes need to refocus in order to look at the digital view again. Is this just how it is?
I just picked up my C8 on Friday and drove it back home 700 miles. No problem with the review camera mirror. Then yesterday, when it was cloudy, I experienced the same thing as you are describing. I have no idea why that is happening either..??
As far as refocusing, yes, that's the way it is. When you look in a mirror, your eyes are actually focusing on the object you see in the mirror, which is relatively far away. When you look at a screen, your eyes have to focus on that, which is only a foot and a half away. With more usage, most people get used to it and the adjustment happens very quickly.
As for the reflections, as others have suggested, try moving the angle of the mirror a little until you can get rid of them. The first time I drove a C8, I had that issue, but in my own car I was able to adjust the mirror so it's not an issue at all.

I had the exact same problem when I first got my C8 back in 2020. It bothered me for a couple of weeks then my eyes /brain compensated and the issue went away. Stick with if for a little bit, I'll be it goes away for you too. Good luck!
Adjusting the angle of the mirror so it faces more towards you will help.
Great suggestion to move mirror to eliminate the view of the outside. It appears to me you see the mirror reflection on the top of the mirror and below that you see the camera picture. I will try your suggestion next time in the car.
I use the camera exclusively and have the mirror pointed right at my me, as if I am looking at a video monitor. In reality, that is exactly what you are looking into anyway.

Great! I am going to shift the position towards me and see if that gets away from me seeing the "ghosted" images of the regular rearview mirror.
Need to remember you are looking at a camera lens rather than a mirror image - especially with a HTC need to adjust with top down and top up as top down is back to the camera. Had this same issue on my first drive home from the dealer and it was actually nauseating.
I think your mirror is pointed too far down. It is intended to operate so the mirror points at the roof of the car so it does not see through the window and get double images like you are seeing.
Flip the switch under the mirror so it is off, adjust this so you can see through the rear window. Now switch it back and it should be in the right position..

This is the best way to do it if you occasionally use the rear view mirror, and especially if you have a HTC. But if you still have problems then push the button forward and adjust the mirror so that you see yourself and then pull the lever back to camera position. This is the best it is going to get.
It is still a mirror. But while in “camera” mode, it’s a tv…but still has mirror qualities. While in camera mode you can aim the “mirror” to any angle and the image will still be visible. Depending on your lighting conditions you have have been getting a shadow ‘ halo reflection from the mirror. When I get that I just make a small adjustment up/down or left / right and the image is still visible but the halo goes away.

Yep I found the solution to focus and glare is to tilt the mirror as if you were looking at yourself! It's a TV so looking as close as you can to perpendicular is best AND eliminated glare from the rear window.
I have been wearing progressive/transition glasses for 30 years. With the mirror set properly works great. In fact have mine set with a wide view, like the convex passenger door mirror. Yep like it, cars are closer than they appear but can quickly adjust. It's by far the best view for cars coming into your blind spots behind the fender I have ever had.
SIDEBAR
I have been setting my mirrors to show blind spots and have my eyes automatically continually looking at the center rear view mirror to see cars that will soon be there. Allows quick lane change etc when there is no time to look over your shoulder.
Never used small blind spot mirrors on my drivers door mirror on my 1st 3 Vette coups, 2 C4s and a C6. BUT added to my 2 C7 coupes because the rear view through the center mirror was restricted. With the wide view through the TV center mirror it's the best rear view of any car I have owned, far better than the limited range of the blind spot detection in my 3LT.
It helps me maintain my 60+ year record of never having an accident with another car! That and Luck!

Right. I've had the car about a month and its no issue anymore, for me anyway. At first it was a little getting used to quickly focus at a glance, but now I don't really notice it any longer. I guess everyone is different, but I think you will get used to it. Tom
Does everyone drive with the rearview mirror's camera on?
Unless my top is down, or I forget to put it back to Camera position when the top is up.
I'm far sighted so the images in the camera aren't as clear as they are in the mirror. I momentarily flip to the mirror position if I want to see a clearer image of what is directly behind me.
