Default Wheel stud extensions for mounting tires

Awhile back there was a thread for putting three extensions on studs for removing and installing the tire. Tried search but lacking skills, so asking for help if anyone can decipher what I'm trying to describe. Thanks

here you go.

I bought some and they worked great for the OEM wheels. But my MRR wheels have holes that are too small for them to fit through where they attach to the stud. So YMMV.

^ Those are the ones. They work very well as long as the holes accommodate the extender.

Here's another option, although it appears they are packaging them differently now, from when I purchased my 3 pack.

Just a heads up: I have NOT used mine yet, so don't know how well they fit other wheels. BTW, the Steelman extenders were recommended to me from the owner of ReverseLogic since he was no longer carrying them - at that time.

..

I had the same issue with BC forged wheels. Now I have a pretty set that just sits in my toolbox. Going with another brand of wheel on the next car, so we will see. FYI, I believe the actual manufacturer is Reverse Logic. Probably a one man show, but a good guy to work with.

I had exactly the same experience with my HRE F11 wheels, holes too small.

I think the issue is that most aftermarket wheel manufacturers are designing wheels around 12mm lugs and these cars have 14mm lugs.

Check out the MagAssist from ZL1 Addons: https://zl1addons.com/collections/co...33025416527935

I got this because my aftermarket wheels don't work with the stud extenders, but once installed I like these even better. Easier to line up one big hole than 3 small ones.

Just make sure they send you the C8 version, and not the Camaro version. I know of at least two people who got the wrong ones, including me. In the photo below, the top one is for the Camaro, and is tapered on one side. The bottom one, without the taper, is the Corvette version.

I have the ACS ones and, like others here, found that they work great on stock wheels. I have Spectra gray trident wheels and they saved both my wheels and my back from mishap.

Do dealers and tire shops such as Discount Tire use these to protect customer's wheels?

Most likely not- definitely have never seen it the discount tire locations I went to. Probably just high end independent shops and even then I doubt it.

90% of dealership or discount tire customers have never even looked closely at their wheels, let alone their calipers or rotors for any chips

I bought mine from Corvette Central and they cost half as much and are the same quality and the same extended length.

Directly from Reverse Logic they are $75 for a set of 3. Corvette Central is charging $24.50 for 1. I'm not seeing your "half as much".

I was replying to the ACS offering of $99.

BTW, I’m not seeing your “Reverse Logic they are $75” given the fact they have been out of stock for a very long time.

I have used only two extended lug guides on my C7 now with my C8 and have found two guides are easier to use and aligning the wheel mounting holes. Using three resulted in me having to lift and align the wheel too much

That has been my experience if your is different that’s fine.

Guess I'll continue to take pics and vid of everything before I bring her in for anything. DT replaced a C7 wheel they obviously butchered and tried to hide by lathering face of wheel with lube they use.

PM mw....I've got a brand new set never used....I switched to MRR wheels and they will not work with aftermarket wheels......they are awesome for stock wheels and prevent you from scratching up the backside of your wheels and brake calipers trying to man handle these huge tires.

The ONLY place I take my car to dismount or mount tires is local shop with a very expensive “touchless” Hunter machine.

For the first time, zero scratches or marks around rim on black wheels. Which can scratch just by looking at them.

Same here, Maxie. Delivery was stated at somewhere between 5 and 6 weeks, but mine arrived in 3 weeks.
