I don't think people can be convinced they like a vehicle by others if in fact they don't like it. I had a Dodge truck I hated and there was no convincing me I would like it. I got rid of it. I also had a 2017 Honda Pilot that drove me crazy and nothing could convince me it was a great vehicle. I also got rid of that.
If you don't like it get something else and move on. Nothing says you have to like the C8 if you don't.
Gotta say Hippiefreak, I felt a little overwhelmed about all the possible adjustments. I made a couple of small changes in the dash, set up my drive modes, set my radio up and I was good. Just like said above....don't over think it. You'll find your favorites and start to know them and most likely, not bother afterwards. Just start ur up, hear that sound, grab the wheel and know you're driving the most exotic fun performance vehicle EVER made in the US of A.
The weirdest problem I had and the most difficult thing to get used to was the camera for the rear view mirror. The quick glance to check traffic provided a lot info for my brain to process. It took me about 500 miles to have my eyes and brain make that adjustment...but having said that, if you have that feature....it's fantastic. The wide view is really remarkable.
Your car is really sharp....get her up to 1000 miles and let us know if you still are freaked out...LOL
Best!
57 miles, you don't even know the car yet. The DIC can be configured and de-cluttered.
Set the display how you want it for each driving mode.
The fact it drives so well in D(auto) and is technically a DCT manual tranny is a testament to how well the shift logic is for DD driving. You can give it a hint with a paddle tap, or go full manual if needed. I don't see where there is basis for an argument there unless you like rowing gears. Yeah, rowing gears you are more connected, but you are also slower, and it gets very old in heavy DD driving traffic.
Love the color combination and the red accents. Very much like the cars I have configured on the GM website. Ever since seeing a black/red '67 big block roadster, I have lusted after that combo. When I configure C8s about the only thing I do differently is use red Stinger stripes instead of the Jake hood stripe and I usually configure a two tone seats in red/black. I do also add the red script on the back--I like that touch. So if you decide to sell it, let me know. My only requirement would be that you take my wife in trade. --Bob
If it's raining do like I did when it rained for three days straight after I picked up my C8 - read the owner's manual. You can set up the instrument cluster to your liking - unlike the C6.
I'm not a C6 fan because I had many issues with mine in the 14 months I owned it. The C8 is so much better than the C6 IMHO that there is no comparison. Go read the owner's manual, learn how to set up your car, and get in some seat time in like others have said. I think my C8 is better than any other generation I've owned.
Nothing quite like the simple analog gauges in a C6 Z06 ( or the manual transmission)
I agree. No matter how many C8 Stingrays I see, sit in, or drive in, I have no desire to purchase one. For many simpler is better/more desirable, especially if this is just a weekend fun car & one wants to feel a more connected experience. For others, they view the newest thing as always the best thing and then have to ridicule everything that came before it. Tbh OP, if you didn't love the vehicle when it arrived, as others have said you shouldn't have to learn to love it. It is a completely different driving experience than your C6 Z06, and some prefer the latter.
You might want to look at the Track mode for gauges, which you can freeze, irrespective of the drive mode (Sport, Touring, etc.).
In the Wall Street Journal this week, Apple is extending their CarPlay to extend to gauges in the future. Given their experience with designing user interfaces, I would expect it to be well designed.
I look at the simplicity of my wife’s 2022 Porsche Carrera gauges and this is well designed.
I had a Z06, it's gone, thought I'd feel worse than I do. The only thing I miss is the color, Velocity Yellow.
Go sit in the Z for a while. Now go sit in the C8. Get comfy, it's not hard. Listen to the sound system, read the driver's manual for a while. Play with the gauges and controls.
If that doesn't do it for you, than you are truly lost. Sell it and buy yourself a nice truck.

With all due respect, there is a difference between you and the OP. If I remember correctly from my days in the C6 forum you own a collector's edition C6. He doesn't. As for learning to love the C8, it such a different car than any other generation of the Corvette we all have to learn the differences in it. I've owned one of each of the last four generations that proceeded it and IMHO Chevrolet outdid itself with the C8. The feel going into curves - planted unlike any other Corvette I've owned, the way the DCT shifts, how much fun it is to use the paddles, and I could go on and on....... I think the wait list speaks for itself. 12-15 months unless you want to pay a premium and it's been that way four model years in and getting longer.
I have the same feeling with my C8. Too much high tech and refinement. and it's too fast..
Too fast??? Wow. I was thinking the C8 isn't fast enough.
I've had a handful of sports cars, including a C4, and my C8 feels only slightly faster despite having more than DOUBLE the HP. Even at 495 HP this C8 has more HP than any of my previous cars, I can see why people get the itch for the Z06. With the C8 it's very easy to pull away from a light at a controlled, slow speed. I love my C8, but I honestly thought it would be faster -- or at least feel faster.
I just traded UP. I really enjoy my GMC 2021 Acadia I purchased apx 9 months ago. However, I was surprised that the "2LT version" was missing so many features that I had on my Malibu and current C8. So, I ordered a new 2022 "3LT" version 6 months ago and got waaaay more than I realized that I was missing out on. Heads up display, cameras everywhere, even when driving, outstanding dash layout to perfection with digital and analog everything, speedometer in the middle vs off to the side, ride selection, yadda, yadda, yadda,... so much electronics that I've gotten used to and now expect in all vehicles going forward. And I'm not a child anymore, but I love the features that it has now.
On a point of significance re pricing, so many + and - here on threads con concerning C8 pricing, AMV, ... not to mention my post regarding the thievery at Mike Erdmann Toyota & Nissan that I had to deal with a week ago, well as I expected from a dealership that I've purchased from numerous times - it was straight forward and extremely fair - 2022 msrp minus 2021 msrp plus 50 cents a mile for "depreciation". No dealer fees, ...only additional charges were sales tax and plate change. Another deal done on a handshake. Good dealers are out there. Price isn't always everything, but it's nice when you get both.
Just because you are on the C8 Forum, not everyone here has issues with your situation. I'd love to have a mid-engined Vette and could simply write a personal check for one and not bat an eye. But, though I've given it every chance, it's just not grown on me to the point I'd sell anything else I have to clear space for one; I have 8 vehicles and my garages are full. I'd not be willing to sacrifice any of the others to enable looking at that gawd-awful committee-designed a**end every time I opened a garage-door to drive it.
I don’t think you are alone. I don’t have mine yet but feel I need to give it a try. My wife tells me I’m not going to like it and will be back in a C7Z. I figure it doesn’t hurt to try new things.

YMMV.
My preference for my C6 Z06 doesn't really have anything to do with its rarity, but has everything to do with the driving experience in it vs a C8 Stingray. And as the OP stated he prefers driving his C6 Z more than his C8. Preferences are individual, no matter what the small percentage of owners on corvette forum proclaim. Some people prefer the newest thing, some people prefer driving a C2. There's nothing wrong with either.
Now I am interested in the C8 Z06, but there are more than a few things I'd have to get past to add one to my current Z.
The wait list at the big three, who combined sell 10% of Corvettes, is irrelevant. I meet C8 owners all the time who ordered or purchased locally for sticker. It takes some leg work on the part of the prospective buyer but can be done without waiting on some list for years.
Awesome color combo, it's summertime ...drive it an enjoy. Then push it a bit after the break in period and it will change your initial reactions.
I finally had some free time that also happened to be warm and sunny.
Went out for about 100 miles today.
Some highway, but mostly roads I enjoy with my Z06.
I didn't know about the SIMPLIFY setting, which is GREAT.
It is definitely growing on me now that I have had time to drive it.

Took her out for 100 miles today. Litte highway.
Lotta backroads
I learned from someone on this thread about the SIMPLIFY mode for the dash.
Now we're talkin'nn
No distractions, just the facts at a glance.
I think part of my issue was having it sitting in the garage and I haven't had any dry days when I was actually home.
Mother Nature....what a bi...you know.
I even stopped and removed the top and was impressed with the LACK of wind noise and buffeting.
I did opt for the performance exhaust, so I got to listen to it a little with top on/top off.

ONLY IF YOU TAKE MINE!!
If I could find a 67 BB 4 speed in black/red, I would be all over it!
One of my favorite versions of the Corvette.
I was going to get the Stinger Stripes alongside Jake to accent the outline.
I was able to do that for a '21 build, but it went away for '22 builds.
Kinda glad it did, as it may have been too much.
I almost went with just the Stinger Stripes and fender stripes, but the subtlety of Jake hiding on the black hood was more my style.
I drove her on a 100 mile familiarization outing today.
I learned about the SIMPLIFY mode for the dash.
I am falling in love with her now.
