Called Betty at the museum and paid $30 for them to research my car to see how many were built with the same options. Come to find out mine is 1 of 1. Not really sure what I will do with the information but thought it was interesting and worth $30 to find out.
Very cool. These days that could mean you were the only one who ordered an Orange coupe with a battery tender and the Jake Racing floor mats. I think the real rarity comes in with exterior / interior color combinations, ie Ronald McDonald special (yellow exterior / red Interior), etc. I was surprised there was only one ELB / Morello interior. Sounds like a sharp “‘96 Grand Sport” combo.
I have red mist with black interior. Expecting a 1 of 2,000+, lol. But hey, I did get the battery tender w/ Jake Racing wheel caps so you never know!
As a reckless disregard for math, mine is probably
1:60 of 22 AW+Morello red
1:30 of 22 AW+Morello red+Coupe (50% of orders coupes)
1:15 of 22 AW+Morello red+Coupe+Z51 (~50% of orders Z51)
1:?? The above with edge red calipers, edge red engine cover
Ill be passing by the museum on Sunday so maybe I’ll pitch in the $30 to see the exact 1:??. Thanks for the heads up on the service the NCM offers!
One of the C8 engineers in a video said with all the options there were 11,000 various combinations that could be built. I would guess there's a quite a few 'one of one's' out there.
For me personally, I'm more concerned about getting it optioned the way I want it and the build quality. I'm not so interested in it being rare, but if you like that go for it.
Yeah, 1 of 1 considering all options is not uncommon. I had the only 2018 Sebring Orange Stingray convertible with a manual transmission built that MY, but it didn't make any difference in terms of resale value. And those are considering only major configuration choices.
2018 was also a low production year with only 9K+ built that year because the plant was closed for the major refurb for 3-4 months, and because GM decided to begin 2019 MY production 4-5 months early.
Sometimes there are also some real head-scratchers. In 2022, there were ZERO Torch Red C8s with Sky Cool Grey interiors produced. Since that is certainly a color compatible combo, that is indeed surprising.
I haven't officially checked buy am sure mine too is 1 of 1. Shadow Grey is low numbers anyway, Fender hashes aren't all the popular either. .. FE2 suspension not at at all common, .. etc etc
I didn't order mine in an attempt for it to be a rare car. I checked the boxes I wanted and I'm sad to see no one else agreed with me on the boxes I checked. I also agree with all of the combinations offered that 1 of 1 doesn't really mean anything or will it help with resale. I just thought it was an interesting service they provide and for $30 it will be a neat addition to the binder. Just posted to help let others know this service is available. By no means was I trying to say my AO with Sky Grey interior was rare car. Just thought it was interesting.
It usually means it's so ugly no one else ordered the same combination.
it’s an interesting combo. It’s his car, he likes it. All good. If we all ordered red corvettes, it would be all the same. I’m glad there are people out there that want to be different and stand out. Props to the orange/blue owner!
When driving my C8 I always feel like I'm driving a rare or low-production vehicle, as most people in Ohio keep them as garage queens. Unless I go to a car show, I probably average seeing about 1 or 2 a month.
I do have another car that is actually rare in the USA: a Lotus Elise, of which there are less than 4,900 examples in this country.

That's just not correct. There were 112 Torch Red/Sky Cool Gray combos built. There were zero Torch Red with the Strike Yellow/Sky Cool Gray interior.
I've gotta be honest, out of all the vehicles I've owned over the years (35+), Corvette owners are the only ones that constantly have to be 1 of X (present company included ). When it's an actual limited or special edition vehicle fine, but when it's 1 of 1 that ordered the cassette player, that's when it gets pretty funny.
*btw - there were only 3 Callaway Carbon Edition Z06s produced
