Any Ideas for an alternative phone (mount holder). I often use the "Waze & Google map" apps when traveling and need the phone mounted where I can see it. I have not identified a good I-phone mounting option. Any ideas ?
Thanks

Why not use Carplay and display it on your bigger screen?

i have the a-tach mount and i love it. Its not cheap but it works perfectly and you can work it in
n with the touch screen seamlessly.

One more vote for ProClip, BUT.... I got the "ball" attachment rather than the specific phone one .. (well really I got the phone one but didn't like it because you can't really turn the phone sideways as the support is only at one end. Anyway.) I got the ball and the IOtti phone mount, then took the IOtti phone holder and put it on the ProClip ball... PERFECT. (Not locked into on phone or phone thickness either) ..... I don't do Apple, but in Android, not every app that I want to use is able to be put on the "big screen"... I want the phone in sight and easily reachable.
I had the A-tach mount. It worked, but it was ugly and blocked a tiny bit of screen. I replaced it with the ProClip, which is way better (also way more expensive).
But why don't you just use CarPlay to display the map on the car's screen? I use the mount so I can run a different app (JBV1) simultaneously with navigation, but I display the maps and nav instructions on the car screen using Android Auto.
If only GM had anticipated this and coordinated a way to charge the phone AND wirelessly connect to the factory touch screen…oh, wait.
In the most uncomfortable, inconvenient place possible that virtually guarantees that you cannot get it out while driving yet also ensures that you will forget it when you get out of the car…….

I don’t disagree, but that’s not a bad thing. It doesn’t change the fact that it does charge and does sync wirelessly with the touchscreen. Backseats kinda small, so I don’t know where else GM would put it.

Inconvenient? A little. But not the end of the world. Second, our eyes should be on the road while driving and not trying to get at the phone. This is what causes accidents, and another reason for airplay. And yes, some of us don't have a problem at all with remembering to take the phone with us after a drive.

The same things were said about having radios in cars back in the day...
I too use a phone app for Navi, but why do you need a phone mount?? Use Apple CarPlay / Android Auto and have it come through the nice big screen on your car.....
