I believe mist looks really good in the sun. No sun then it’s torch red

There are a lot of colors that we like to see on the road that we may not want to live with. While both colors are great, I like seeing the Red Mist more than the regular red, but not sure which one I would prefer to live with. I like seeing the orange, yellow or blue more than any of the others, but don’t think I want to own one.

when I repainted my 1970 Vette 25+ years ago, I went with a color similar to the Red Mist, and I absolutely love it, so I can’t have two cars that match lol. The C8 is so much more flashy than my C3 that it may not need the volume in the paint.

this is a picture of our vette and the Pro-Street Camaro we just sold. The vette is a 454 with Brodix heads, air gap, gears, roller everything, etc, the Camaro had a 787hp 598, but used to have a Pat Musi 572 with 2 kits, prior to that it had a crate LS7 bigbock. The Camaro is a Dodge Color, the Vette is a 1994 Lincoln color. You may have seen the Camaro in magazines, it was named ‘Gumby’ when it raced (in green).

I’m probably going with the hypersonic gray just because it is fairly subdued and the metallic should show the lines nicely. Plus, I’m old, and don’t want to draw attention to myself.

Well even though my current Corvette and several past ones have been red, I have been lusting for a Red Mist C8 convertible. To me it is a more interesting color and likely less common. Nothing wrong with either color however...flip a coin if you can't decide.

TR for me. I saw a Red Mist a couple months ago, and although I’ll admit it’s a beautiful color, I still prefer TR. But you really need to get what’s right for you!

Default Red mist vs torch red

I just ordered my car last week. For almost a year I was going to get red mist.

I went to dealer one last time and torch red just popped as a color. Red mist is beautiful color but in shade it was a little dark for me.

as a result I picked torch red and added performance exhaust using money that would have gone for red mist.

either color is beautiful. Up to you

Red mist was introduced in MY2021, so it is a newer color, with a $995. upcharge, if that matters to you. Torch Red was the no. 1 best-selling color for MY2022 and has remained strong for years and would probably have excellent resale potential because of this. Torch Red has a bit more orange tint than I like and while I also see a slight orange tint in Red Mist, depending on the lighting conditions, I prefer the Red Mist. It was the #4 most popular color for MY2022.

that's so helpful, thx!!

Attention ****** will be best served by Red Mist as it's a bright beautiful color that's difficult not to be noticed in. On the other hand a Torch Red C8 is just another 'red' sportscar to many.
I've always wondered how many purchase Corvettes just to be noticed, probably more than you would think.

Both colors are great, but since you want a lot of black trim (top and nacelles) I think torch red will go better.

I think Red mist looks best with no black trim.

One of the problems (if you will) with the C8 is it looks awesome in so many combinations. You are not the only one who is having trouble selecting a color.

If you want attention all the time, not on just sunny days, go with Torch Red. Torch Red Exterior and Adrenaline Red Interior are a perfect match. As others have stated, Red Mist is too dark when out of the direct sunlight.

The other day I pulled up at a restaurant in my RMM right next to a TR C8. A number of people came out to check them out. Everyone said they liked the RMM over the TR even the owners wife. This did not make the owner of the TR happy. The RMM pops. The TR is just like every prior red corvette if that’s what you want. (JMHO). To me that would be conservative?

My feeling you cannot go wrong with either…you will own a C8.

I've had (have) 2 TR....C7 and C8. If I buy another it will be RM with Natural Dipped (3LT) or TR with Adrenaline Red Dipped.....both are great colors. Good luck with your choices. You really can't go wrong with either.

I had a TR C8. The part I didn’t like is that it is way too orange in sunlight. That being said, the red mist has too much of an old man vibe to me. It’s a nice looking color for sure but id like it better in a sedan.

I have found that solid colors tend to accrue and show swirl marks over time far more than metalized ones.

But since you mentioned being noticed, a lady friend of mine was advising me as I too am debating red mist. She said it says old rich guy, while red or black says younger energetic guy looking to stir trouble. So, what’s your message?
