I wanted to call this a support group, but I didn't want to sound like I need a hug.
What are you doing to pass the time while you are waiting? My Deposit was Oct 2021.
I sold my C6 last month, so I am Corvette less.
It will probably be March before I get my new car, this is going to be a long winter.
I ordered an engine cover to paint so I will have one painted and ready when my car gets here. I am buying a metallic blue car, body color accents, silver wheels. and I can't decide what color will look best.
Metallic Blue engine cover may look like too much of the same color,
Maybe Silver like the exterior color of my 2013 C6 would look good. That would look more like an engine color.
my allocation is 'promised' for this month. we shall see! i sold my car a couple weeks ago and now I am hating life. walking in the garage seeing the car brought me joy. little kids stopping and staring brought me joy. every errand run in the vette was an adventure. it was not transportation but was therapy! yep, I miss it.
I would paint it Edge Red to match your Edge Red valve covers. Thats why GM has an Edge Red engine cover you can order from the factory. I passed my time by ordering items for my car and C8 shirts and hats. Go to a local car show and look at the C8's that are at the show.
My brother's first allocation is about to come through, Furman called him and told him to get ready.
My brother and I are on the list together to do museum delivery at the same time (deposit May 2022)
My Mom is somewhere on the list too, I think June 2022
I sold my C7 on June of 21 and put a deposit down for a C8 a few weeks later in July of 21. I knew it would be a bit of a wait.
During the wait so far I purchased a set of HRE wheels, a Quickjack lift, a new battery trickle charger, and a few other things. The hard part now is the allocation is very close and the weather has been very good. In my area it's been perfect for top down driving.
The Quickjack comes in handy. It's been used for various projects like painting my wife's Blazer RS calipers. The HRE's are still in the box and thye will get a ceramic coat before even being installed.
I've built dozens of variations of C8's through the configurator while I waiting for an allocation. I've gone back and forth on options, trim levels, and various accessories. In hindsight, I should have waitied to sell my C7. It is harder to wait being vetteless after owning vettes for years.
It's been 415 days since deposit. (13 months 19 days). It shouldn't be much longer for the next step in the process.
I bought five sets (soon to be 6) of the ugly *** stock silver wheels and turned them over to my powdercoating guy to give me some wheel options. I have a gloss black set in my possession and will grab the others this weekend or next week! I think the color I am most excited to see is the "root beer" one!
I am also expecting delivery of my new C8 in March 2023. I did sell my track ready C5 last month at Carlisle and was able to talk to Mike about my order in person. I haven't purchased anything for the C8 yet, but I have been trying to buy a new Silverado or Suburban with Super Cruise. I had an order with a dealer for a 2022 Silverado with Super Cruise last March, but in May the factory rejected the order. Now i can't find anyone who will take an order for a 2023 Silverado or Suburban with super cruise, even Mike. Looks like it will be easier buying the C8 than a Chev or GMC with super cruise. Anyone have any suggestions on where to go to get a super cruise vehicle on order?
As other people have posted, the waiting for the C8 is getting tougher since I sold my other Vette. I did purchase some tickets for a chance to win a C8 Z06 while I was at Carlisle. Drawing is in a couple of weeks.
