After a little over a month of ownership, I am seriously struggling to keep it “10 over” the posted speed limit. This thing just begs for more but I know I have to hold her back. It drives so damn well that the speed limits (posted) feel like I’m driving way under and when I look at the HUD, I’m like “damnit, slow the $@&! down!!!
I can’t fathom what Z06 owners must be experiencing… just the LT2 begs for so much more than I’m willing to sacrifice (do not want or need tickets for being stupid).
Outside of track days, how does one cope??? I can’t be alone here…
It is difficult. I was hoping the speedometer was fast but checked it with GPS and it is right on the money. Enough horsepower to get where I need to go in a short time.
I've driven Corvettes with the cruise control for 30 years..... tap it up, tap it down.... as many taps as necessary.
It requires you to be constantly aware - extreme alertness required -- but that's a good thing...
Wanna go fast? Go find the back roads with the twisties as I did Sunday morning....

I know exactly what you mean. I tell my wife all time, "I feel like a psycho when I drive this. I want to go 100+ all the damn time". Obviously, I don't do this but the temptation is real. Especially after completing Ron Fellows!

Took mine out for a early morning weekend spin yesterday and changed lanes to avoid coming up behind a truck/trailer and suddenly I was doing 91 mph, seemed 71, back down quickly.
At 90 mph you haven't even begun to tap it's power.
These are AMAZING sportscars.

Of course that was on a closed track- I would suggest not admitting to exceeding posted limits on public forums

It's crazy how quickly and smoothly the C8 accelerates...Our speed limit on the freeways here in AZ is 75 which means most of us are cruising at least 80mph...And when passing in the C8, before I know it, I'm doing well over 90mph! Crazy!

From my cruising at 70 mph (posted speed limit), to 91 to pass the truck/trailer (who was breaking state law crating a hazard as no tarp cover, by the way) to back down to 70 probably took all of 3 seconds.

I have done that a few times on the Interstate and each time I verbally end up saying HOLY #*$@
