Can anyone chime in on this question. I was going to get my car done with Expel PPF and the garage I went to has Stek PPF which I've never heard of?? Has anyone had Stek PPF put on their car and is it any good?? I don't want to make a mistake!!
I have full STEK and Ceramic Pro.
The place showed me Xpel.
It was definitely thinner.
STEK is tough, sturdy, not like Saran Wrap, and glossy! I was skeptical about any PPF before, but let me tell you I am thrilled with the product!
Definitely get it!
My car looks wet shiny and glossy all the time and washing is a breeze!

I have not heard of STEK before. I have Xpel on my car and am happy, but good to hear that there is another PPF out there that compares very favorabily with Xpel.
I had STEK put on both my C8s. The detail shop I use deals with high end exotics and has both STEK and XPEL on hand. He prefers the STEK as it is thinner and has less orange peel when installed versus the XPEL. It's not something you really notice if you look at XPEL on a car, but putting 2 sample pieces side by side, it was visibly better with the STEK.

Have it on my 2017 Z06/Z07, both 2019 ZR1's, 17, turbo s, 21' turbo s 19, GT2 rs, and just had it put on my wife's C8 70th Annv HTC, all my cars are 100% wrapped, would not use anything else
I believe both Stek and X-Pel come in both 8 & 10 mil thicknesses.. I did my '20 C8 in X-pel because I hadn't heard of the Stek film at the time..It will be on my car 3 years in October and is holding up great..
I have the STek Ultra with Revivfy ceramic on my C8. My installer switched from XPEL years ago as the STek is easier to work around these challenging shapes the new cars/trucks are giving. Gloss and hydrophobic properties are excellent and the combo I have offers a level of “self healing” properties (it actually works!).
Don’t get STek confused with SunTech which also has a PPF line and is somewhat less in material cost. The most important factor to verify is that your installer is certified by the company and is able to handle any warranty and maintenance issues.
Thanks for your comments on PPF and these two brands. Can the PPF be applied to freshly painted cars?
I'm soon getting a museum delivery in about 4-6 weeks and plan to drive the C8 from Bowling Green to Arizona...
Is it too soon to add PPF? I'd hate to wreck my Elkhart Lake Blue paint. Thanks.

You don't need to wait. Good to go out of the factory. Will most likely need paint correction (by your installer) prior to install.

Yes, NCM actually has a local Xpel shop that you will get a discount through as part of the NCM delivery. If you give Shane a liability waiver, they can even do the PPF install before your delivery (which is what I did), so you're ready to go on a road trip. I put 2300 miles on mine driving back from the museum and it was an absolute blast, but very thankful I was able to get PPF done before putting the miles on.
What was the cost for NCM to take care of the PPF?
I only planned on getting the front portion/clear bra coverage. This has between fine for my last 4 cars. Tnx

They offer 4 packages: https://corvettestore.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=xpel
They don't offer just a front bumper cover and mirrors, which many other shops do, and since I hate mid-hood lines, I'd go with at least the Front End Package. I ended up doing the Front End Plus, and I'm glad I did as there's a lot of crap that gets thrown up on the lower doors and behind the rear tires, which this package covers.
You get a 10% discount as an NCM member (part of the museum delivery).
