I have them and they are fine. As long as you clean your sill area before install you shouldn't have any paint damage issues. West Coast Corvettes has them for about $80. I do wish they covered more of the plastic sill area toward the door jam as that part got nicked on my previous Z I attached a pic. They look good and already saved my passenger side from well.. 2 passengers so far. I do like the ppf idea though. Are you guys doing the ppf on the plastic part of the doorsill as well? Or just the paint/metal sill?
You have to be careful with sill protectors, they might scratch your paint. I purchased some for my C7 and they scratched my paint.
Same here, door sills were perfectly clean when protectors were installed and removed. The protectors rubbing against the sills caused the rub marks / scratches.

I have them on my C7 (as well as PPF in the sill area. Yes, over time the plastic sill protectors can scratch the paint, but with the PPF that film gets damaged rather than the paint.
I have them on my C6. I'm happy with them. The plastic sill protector on the passenger's side has scuff marks, so I assume if I didn't have them, the scuff marks would be on the actual sills itself. When a friend bought a C8, I bough and sent him a pair as a gift. He was pleased o get them and uses them. Last time I looked they were about $100.
When the ones I had started scratching, I put pads under them to hold them away. Then the pads started scratching. .. It looked worse than having them acquire the wear naturally. Into the garbage they went.
You get clear plastic furniture table top bumper discs about the size of a quarter. You don’t affix them to the plastic shield but to the sill itself. By fixing them to the car the only rub spot can be back on the protector. I also use an extra piece of Velcro to better secure them in place. I have been using them for years without scratching or damage.

No thank you as that's too much alterations for me for a product that's supposed to work out of the box. Besides the protectors look like hell anyway. I will just take my chances being careful not to scuff my sills.

It's not me that I have to worry about... it's my kids or, even worse, any uninformed adult that steps in/out of the passenger side. Also for the single folks, if you were on a hot date, would you be telling that person "mind your heels/shoes when you get in/out of the car so as to not scratch the paint?" That would be a serious c%0k block for sure...

I don't have problem with other's as my C8 is just a recreational vehicle for me and I'm the only one in it 99% of the time. I typically take spirited early morning weekend drives on the winding country roads around my home. Great therapy after a long stressful week.
