When I engage my Z mode, with the exhaust set to Sport, I hear a squeek as it engages. Similarly, when I shut off the car and it's in this mode, there's a squeek from the engine area as it turns off. It's gotten louder over time (I'm at just under 7000 miles). I've seen someone describe it on another forum as the last sound an air compressor makes as it shuts off, which sounds about right. I've seen a couple people describe a squeek in the shift from V4 to V8 or vice versa, but I do not have that or notice it anyway.
Does anyone else have this sound? Is it normal?
I will be getting my 7500 oil change in the next month or so and I plan on asking about this.
I don't think the AFM valves would be closed at idle, regardless of mode. Pretty sure the car is always in V8 mode at idle, so they shouldn't be moving when the car shuts off.
When I had my 7500 mile service this summer, they identified the squeak as the exhaust control valve. The parts came in recently and I just got my C8 back from the dealer today. They replaced a muffler, a seal, and a gasket and did a "relearn the cylinder deactivation exhaust control actuators".
On my 15 minute drive home with, a stop to pick up lunch, the squeak is gone and the exhaust sounds great in touring, sport, and in the transition between the two where it used to squeak.
Hey Robert6 - Thanks for taking the time to note this issue and outcome....I am having the exact issue. Do you know if they required to remove the back bumper and do you know why they actually replaced the whole muffler and not just seal and gasket??
Thanks again for your intel and experience on this issue.

TorchRed: I'm really not sure. I quickly came home and wrote up what they told me. I honestly forgot I even had this issue until I reread the thread today. Guess it's been great the last 15k miles.
