I want to mount my Escort RedLine 360c with the BlendMount and Wire tap just like you did. How hard was it to do the wire tap? Do the prongs on the red & black wire push in easily without any risk of damage to the port? I'm not afraid to wrench on things, but for some reason I feel kind of timid in doing this wire tap. Been using the suction mount that came with the Escort but it fell off once during some spirited cornering and don't want that to happen again!
I also use a CarPlay AI box to run JBV1 app on the infotainment screen that gives you amazing integration of the V1G2 into your vehicle. Video of that setup here: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...post1606575052
This is an old photo......... BEFORE I wedged the visor to make the detector sit level... You can see the phone mount I use to access JBV1 on the side of the info screen.
All but invisible from outside. The constabulary only bend down far enough to talk. They don't get on their knees and look up.

I'll answer since I used my old Blendmount wiretap from my 2017 Grand Sport a year before Blendmount offered for the C8 with the diagram below. I used a video for my 2020. It came out a month before I got my C8 before anyone knew it could be taped. In fact I called Blendmount who said they were working on their mount but had not defined the wiring at the time. It is not easy to see the black ground #3 in Blendmount diagram and on right what I used a pic I made from the video. The instructions in my detailed PDF (link below) said it's below and one spce to the left of the positive RED easy to see. Recall I say backward on the passenger seat. Blendmount wiring kit comes with several size pins. I recall using the smallest. You can "feel" it in.

Whichever mount you choose, there are some trade offs. Best reception of incoming radar signals require the detector mounted as high as possible on the windshield. However, that does make the detector much more visible to cops and thieves. If you happen to have windshield tint, some types of tint will greatly reduce your detector’s performance.
Good luck, select what works for you, and understand which radar bands are in use where you live/travel, and pay attention to your detector alerts.
My Valentine 1 Gen 2 gets power from the back of the rearview mirror. The whole process took me less than a half hour to set up. Popped off the back of the mirror mount, tapped RED to RED and BLACK to BLACK. Replace the mirror mount backing. Do NOT tap the GRAY wire or you may end up with a broken side view mirror. I tapped mine over two years ago and no issues. (I also run a Uniden R8 in my Land Rover, both V1G2 and Uniden R8 are great, although the R8 is a better “grab and go” detector mainly due to its on-board GPS. The V1G2 excels when paired with an Android phone running JBV1).
