For those of you who use a battery tender, what brand & model do you use? Did some researching this weekend and looked like the CTEK CS One would be a good option. However, I don't know if they stopped making it or is just hard to find (excluding the exorbitantly priced ones on eBay). Curious as to what others are using.
My car came with the Corvette branded basic CTEK from Chevrolet and it works just fine. I have several others in my garage, but I decided to use the one that shipped with the car.
HARBOR FREIGHT.................I have the Portion on the Right Semi permanently connected
to battery and that positive post , then plug in the rest as needed...........
I hang the wire over the fender (on a towel) and lower the hood down onto to the locks
without closing it
I've a lot of vehicles and have at least one of each of these brands. All are fine. However, over the years I've had a couple "Battery Tenders" die... never with Optimas or CTEK. Also, I've banged around the Optimas more than the others without issue.
CTEK - I have an MSX 5.0 and a 7002 which is a huge maintainer for bigger batteries. My primary car which doesn't get driven that much is always on the 5.0 if it is standing still in the garage. I especially like the complete cycling feature of the 5.0 which won't overcharge a battery like a "battery charger" will.
Just about every premium brand car manufacturer purchases from CTEK then rebrands them for their car models. - Corvette, Ferrari, MB, Bentley, Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Maserati, BMW, Porsche, RR, Ford GT, to name a few.
