Default Mistake on 2024 order

I ordered and already took delivery on my 2024 C8 but made the mistake of not ordering the NPP (dual mode exhaust) and regret it now. I remember seeing "long ago" that one of the aftermarket companies had a C8 exhaust that was the same as the factory style but I can't remember who that was, can anybody point me in the right direction to find that company....?

I don't think you can retrofit a dual mode system on a non dual mode system car.

I’m pretty sure all the exhaust systems are specifically sold as NPP vs Non-NPP. Don’t think you can add it later, but I could be wrong! I haven’t even gotten my C8 yet lol

Anything can be done but adding NPP you would have several thousand in parts and labor. You most likely you won't be able to get the RPO code added to make it functional either. Just get a reputable aftermarket non valves exhaust.

I purchased an aftermarket version of the NPP for my C6 from B&B. The drone was very bad, even when in the quiet mode

Essentially impossible to retrofit dual mode functionality. That said, you can certainly get an aftermarket system that is comparable to the NPP with the valves open in terms of volume and tone. Is that what you are asking?

If the OP is satisfied with the sound of NPP with the valves open and doesn't mind that sound all the time then he could probably pick up a used NPP exhaust for a few hundred bucks.

If someone wanted to put some effort into it they could probably figure out how to open/close the NPP valves with a remote control.

Guys, the second line of my thread was aftermarket.....I remember seeing "long ago" that one of the aftermarket companies NOT the GM NPP exhaust...that is what I'm looking for. I "had" thought of installing somebodies "removed" factory NPP on one of my previous C8's but I sold that car and the replacement was a Z51 so it had the exhaust, so we never finished seeing if we could retrofit the GM exhaust, that is why I am looking for the "aftermarket" system on my 2024 but I need help with finding who it was that had it

You confused everybody by saying it was the same 'style'. I think it was generally assumed you meant that it had dual mode functionality. If all you want it the sound of the NPP with the valves open, just pick up somebody's removed system, there are thousands around. They are worthless and whoever is dumb enough to have it sitting around will be glad you took it away.

So it's still not clear what you're looking for. If you mean an aftermarket system that has valves that you can control to change the loudness, then no. There are no such systems available for the C8. There was one for the C7 that came with its own control system, not linked to the car's computers at all, but I haven't seen anything like that for the C8.

There are plenty of aftermarket systems available without the valves, in varying degress of loudness. Many of them will drone like craxy at highway speeds unless you're in V4 mode.

Exactly WHAT do you want the aftermarket system to provide?

About all you can do is try the big exhaust manufacturers (Corsa, B&B, Borla, etc.) and see if they offer what you are interested in. I have heard of dual mode functionality from B&B with their Fusion system, but have not seen that offered for the C8.

If you don't have a factory NPP valved system you can not add an after market valved system, it can't be retrofitted period. You will have to find another system that you like the sound of that is non adjustable. You can't put a valved system factory or otherwise on a car that didn't originally have the NPP option. So if you really want the valved system trade the car in and order another with it that's your option. If your car is a Z51 then you should have the NPP option standard.

There is no adjustable exhaust available now but you still have a ton of options. If you tell us your driving style and wants for sound we can help guide you!

I Assume that long ago was before thr C8 as no such system exists to retrofit a non NPP C8.
