Just be aware that this is listed for other GM engine applications and not the C7 and C8 engines as it has a relief setting of 35 psi. The PF64 is 22 psi. For the C6 engines, the UPF48R and PF48 both had 15 to 18 psi relief bypass settings so either could be used if not an LS9 ZR1.
If you want a premium oil filter, you might consider a WIX WL10290XP which has the correct 22 psi bypass setting as the OEM standard PF64. I have been using that for the past 5 years for my LT4.
I haven't posted here in quite a while, however a forum member messaged me yesterday seeking info on the latest version of the GM PF64 oil filter. So I thought I would share it here as well.
As the supersession order goes from 12640445 then 12696048 then 12706595 and currently 25206377 which was installed from the factory on my 2023 Z51 and I was told it was the current version of the PF64.
All are PF64s and I don't believe any of them would do any harm to your C8 engine.
I am disappointed in the oil filters I order yesterday, shipped directly from Amazon and received today. Very quick, nice!
But I ordered PN:12706595 as shown in the picture. I received 25206377.
I am paranoid and will return them. Ebay sells many 25206377 so I fear they could be counterfeits.
This is what I ordered. Shipped directly from Amazon. Picture shows 12706595
I received 2 of these filters. I know it might be a legitimate replacement, substitute, or older model. I want what I ordered!!!

The efficiency rating on the WIX XP is downright awful (only 50% @ 20 micron). Use what you like, but you may want to look into the details of it.
Ron, as I stated above the PF64 GM 25206377 replaces the 12706595 (per GM) just as 12706595replaced the previous two. It's not a counterfeit as it's exactly the same as the PF64 GM 25206377 that came on my 2023 Z51 from the factory. I doubt that GM is using counterfeit oil filters.

the 2024 owners manual still lists 12706595 as the part number for pf64. However, one of the on-line parts suppliers, gm parts giant lists 25206377 the part number that replaces 12640445, 12696048, 12683286, 12706595.
Although I do not intend to use it, and do not recommend its (UPF64R) use, the ACDelco Catalog actually lists both PF64 and UPF64R for 2020-2023 Corvette. For 2024, it lists only the PF64.
It also lists some "aftermarket" filters under "interchange". Those listed for the PF64 are not the same as those listed for the UPF64. Go figure. I won't be using any of those either.
The UPF64 has the wrong bypass pressure. Whatever the AC/Delco website says, it's doesn't meet GM's specs. LT2s and LT1s have dual stage oil pumps that operate at a lower pressure normally, which is why GM specs a lower bypass pressure for those engines. If the filter gets clogged (which shouldn't happen as long as you change the oil and filter when called for), it could starve the engine of oil. There's no benefit to the UPR, and a possible downside. Why risk it?

The UPF64R has better filtration, a higher flow rate and a higher burst strength than the PF64 so saying there's no benefit is false.
If you think this filter isn't compatible with the C8's oil system then explain why this filter is approved for the C8 by AC Delco, GM and is an option in all GM dealership databases for parts and service? Why would GM approve a filter that isn't compatible?

Purely for what its worth ("your vehicle, your choice"), my servicing dealer originally had the UPF64R listed as okay for the C8 based on a GM Service and Parts bulletin BUT revised their opinions after a discussion on the topic. I was insistent that they use the PF64 on my C8 and not the UPF64R because of the different bypass pressures. By observation, my C8 oil pressures frequently operate in the "under 35 psi" range which suggested that it is unlikely that the UPF64R filter would ever go into bypass if it was ever needed to. The PF64 would at least provide some bypass flow should the need arise.
I know the servicing dealer called their GM rep and were told that there was an error and that the UPF64R should not be used on the C8's.

So why is it approved for use on the C8 by GM? It seems like nobody has an answer for this, but will tell you all day long it's the wrong filter based on their opinion or the opinion of someone they talked to. I know I'm covered no matter what under warranty since I'm using a GM approved filter sold by my local Chevrolet dealership, but if there is info out there proving that GM is wrong and this filter is incorrectly listed in GM's database then please post something so we can stop using them and notify GM of their mistake.
Can you provide a source for the GM approval for use on the C8? I know the ACDelco website lists it for use on the 2023 and earlier C8s but cross references are often incorrect and I wouldn't consider that as GM approved for use on the C8. The Mobil 1 website still lists the M113a for use on the C7 and C8 but it has the incorrect bypass pressure and tech support will tell you that the correct filter is the M114a.
Having said that, I have never seen a source from GM or ACDelco that says the UPF64R has a 35 psi bypass pressure. I've only seen that on a few 3rd party websites.

I don't see where it is approved by "GM" unless you think that the ACdelco catalog site is "GM". And, why does that site recommend it for 2020-2023, but only recommend the PF64 for 2024. The inconsistency casts douibt on the credibility of the recommendation. Given the inconsistent listing on the Delco site, I would instead go with the Owners Manual.
The entire GM parts database used by all dealerships shows the UPF64R and PF64 as the correct filters for the C8, not just the AC Delco web site. My local Chevrolet dealership also showed me in their system that it was correct for the C8. If the GM database is wrong then someone should notify them and I'd gladly stop using this filter as I only want the best parts for my C8, but until that happens I'll trust what GM recommends and use the better of the 2 filters.
