Default Or, put anoher way:

I've never said the UPF64R won't work, nor that it is or is not better. Just that I intent to use the PF64R.

Is the GM parts data base for dealers only, or is that something we can access? If its ok to use, and especially if it is "superior" for this application, someone should notify GM so they can include it in the Owner's Manual. That is a GM document, it is available to the public, it is the document owners consult, and it is the reason many insist on using the PF64.

I assume the on-line parts suppliers use a different data base? The gmpartsnow.com says the UPF64R does not fit my 2021. The gmparts.com, which may or may not be the one dealers use, says it will fit, and recommends it if I type in "oil filter" for my 2021. It also lists a PF64F, which appears to be a bundle of 12 PF64 filters with different lithographics on the can.

There are so many thoughts on the correct filter I am totally confused. I wish GM would chime in and tell us what to use.

Any PF64. GM changes part numbers at the drop of a hat. All PF64 filter part numbers are functionally equivalent. If you search for the part number listed in your manual you will likely find a different part number for a PF64 if the part number in the manual has been superseded, or if the part number in the manual superseded a previous part number. However they are all acceptable for use as long as they are PF64 filters.

My PF64s have changed some. The old one said to use a 3/4 turn to tighten and the new one, 1 full turn.
