2022 Corvette. I had some issues in the first year (transmission replacement) and then some confusion with the dealer over a warranty service issue. (All is good with the car now). For my "troubles," GM gave me a "Prepaid Maintenance Plus" contract at no cost.
I'm coming up on 19k miles and oil life is currently at 18%. Car is telling me to schedule service. I contacted the dealer and was told that the prepaid maintenance plan only covers $75 towards the oil change. Actual cost is around $275, so I'm on the hook for $200. I called GM to confirm. After being bounced around to a few different people, they claim the plan only cover about $125 towards an oil change.
Does this sound right? My other car (F-250 gas) has a maintenance plan (dealer threw it in for free) and there's never been any out of pocket for regular service. I figure that's how "prepaid" is supposed to work. Similar to the vette, the 250 is a more expensive than normal vehicle to service.
I can't find any details on the Chevy plan. I have a contract form, but there is nothing to show details of the plan. Seems odd that "prepaid maintenance" would actually be "discounted" maintenance. Very misleading. I'd be really ticked off if I paid for this. Still not very pleased since it was explained to me very different when originally offered.
Anyone have experience with this plan or know where to find the actual terms and conditions?
Thank you for that. The paperwork I received from GM only has page 1 (duplicated three times). None of the terms and conditions are shown on my copy.
Strange that the terms state one thing, and every dealer has a different story. Assuming someone actually pays the listed cost of $2408 - a three year plan gets you six oil changes and two filter replacements (two cabin and one air). My dealer will give me $75 towards a $280 oil change. $75x6 = $450. Cabin filter they charge $120. Assuming they acknowledge that is covered, we're up to $690. That means to break even, they would have to include the air filter and it would have to cost $1,718. (I'm not including the brake fluid or windshield wiper change, but would that change things much?)
The numbers don't add up. Taking advantage of everything would not come close to the cost of the plan. Paying in advance usually involves a discount, not a penalty. I love this car, but GM doesn't make it easy.
Premier Plan. 3 year agreement. Expires 2026. Retail cost listed at $2,408.

The cost you quote sounds like an extended warranty plan, not a pre-paid maintenance plan.

Understood. I'm just reading the numbers off the page GM sent me. It is definitely a "Chevrolet Pre-Paid Maintenance Plus" with the "Premier Plan" box checked. Same form as the contract posted earlier in this thread, although mine is missing pages 2 and 3 (instead has page 1 shown three times).
I didn't know what plan you had so if you had the standard plan, that would of only paid for semi-synthetic. I was thinking that is why they wanted extra dollars.
I am trying to figure out based on the contract why only a certain amount would be covered? It doesn't say anything like that in the contract.

So it's not just me. If there was a limit, it should be spelled out in the terms.
Again, if the dealer or the person I spoke to at GM is right, the maintenance plan would not make sense. Cost far exceeds the benefit. Doesn't seem to make any sense

I agree, the contract didn't say anything about limiting the cost of the services. I'd contact Safe-Guard (the plan administrator - their phone number is at the bottom of the page) and ask them for the closest dealer that will honor the terms of the plan.
My dealer charges $150 for a C8 oil change. It seems to me they are grabbing the $125, plus tapping you another $150, in affect double dipping, not the intent of a maintenance contract. I would fight this a bit. A call to a GM rep seems to be in order.
I wonder if the DCT fluid change at 3 years is covered under the program. Seems like if it covers 36 months and the DCT fluid is due to be changed at the 3 year mark you could come in a week before the contract is up and have the fluid changed under the contract.

I haven't had my C8 long enough to change the oil yet. But on My previous C7 Z51 the last time I had it changed this time last year my Chevy dealer charged about $110. And the dry sump variants of the C7 used more oil; 10 1/2 quarts of mobile 1. Their sister CJDR dealership accross the street charged me $102 for my Ram 2500 with 6.4 Hemi using Ram's reccomended Penzoil full synthetic. So I'd have to agree it seems like this dealer is double charging. Both my vehicals together cost less than the quoted $250. Here is a thought...call a few other dealers and ask them how much they charge, without mentioning the maintenance plan just to see what they say
GM says the prepaid maintenance plans do not apply to Corvette and cannot be sold for them. If GM issued that plan to you as compensation for previous issues, I would contact the group that issued it and let them know the dealers refuse to honor it.

I just bought my 2024 Corvette and I bought the Pre-Paid Maintenance Plus. It is for 36 months. I also have a Allstate Complete Premier Protection Service Contract for 72 months. I also have the Mechanical Failure service contract for 7 years or 70,000 miles.

If they sold you the GM Pre-Paid Maintenance plan, its worthless for your Corvette as it will not cover the required services. Get your money back.
No idea why you would buy 2 extended warranty contracts but sounds like the dealer sold you a bunch of profit makers.

No its not, the plan does not cover Corvette required maintenance. GM does not offer a plan that does.
