Not always true. I was at a 200 car show last week, and there were a number of beautiful, various vintage Corvettes, and judges picked mine for best Corvette in show.
If your car is done well and tastefully, newer vintage cars can win.
I’m sorry………I’ve never really understood why cars like a c8 with some birthday cake decorations stuck on them and a couple of plaques indicating what exactly the options the car has from factory makes it a show car????
I went to a show last night with my 70th anniversary c8 and parked in the lot behind the show cuz putting a factory car in a show that people actually worked hard with there ride and created something special to showcase is silly.
just saying

I get what you're saying, but most shows have various categories to remedy this issue. A lot of people want to see the newer cars as well.
In my opinion leave all that BS behind. I'll see black cars all decked out w/ star wars theme (darth vader/darth maul), red cars w/ Deadpool, yellow with Bubble Bee, Green cars w/ hulk.
Also see Tweety Bird, Betty Boop. Don't put a miniature C8 that is a replica of your car on the dash or in the truck/engine bay.
The worst is these fake looking kids leaning on the car like they're in trouble or something.
I would say if you have your Corvette Museum build sheet to put that in the window. That helps people if they have questions.
Less is more. But I'm not trying to win trophies. I go there to see cool cars.
However,....I do get a big *** laugh at all the **** people put on their cars, so I take alot of photos of that junk too. It's like a train wreck, you can't help but look. LOL

I would really like to understand the reason for the "theme" builds. It's so bizarre to tack on a bunch of stuff from something that has nothing to do with corvette on a car.
Cool pics. Thanks. I wasn't planning to go all out but wanted to add some stuff to make it stand out from the crowd. For example, this weekend I put my Stingray cover on and had a plush Stingary on it, haha. That's pretty much it. Here's a pic in my garage as an example—nothing over the top.
I did have a lot of interest and comments about my engine and the car as a whole, which I was excited about, considering it was really the first time I'd brought it to a show and opened the hatch.

Years ago I was asked to judge an all year Corvette class at a 4th of July car show....never again.
One guy followed me around crying on my shoulder about never winning a trophy.
Another offered to buy me lunch. A guy with a brand new C6 figured he should automatically win...
