Default Brake Cooling Deflector Kit

Bag was in the frunk, if I am not going to track the car, should any of these parts be installed? I see the instructions say to leave Steps 9-11 (rear lower control arm cooling duct) off during PDI, only to be installed for track use. So I assume steps 1-8 should of been installed at PDI. Install steps 1-8 or simply leave it all off?

Install the parts as listed in the instructions, should have been done during PDI. Everything gets installed for street except the rear ducts that mount to the control arms.

If you want to leave everything off for street use you probably could other than canyon carving or something like that.

On the rear, just the turn down tubes should be installed during PDI (top pic), but the remainder of the kit should only be installed for track use (bottom pic). Reasons: debris can get lodged in the ducts, and/or between the rotors and brakes. You could also catch the ducts on uneven surfaces and road debris.

My dealer couldn't, or didn't bother to, read the 2024 PDI checklist.
They installed front AND REAR brake cooling ducts during the PDI.
I realized it when I couldn't find them in any of the bags they left in the car after I picked it up.
Contacted the point of sale dealer Service Manager, and told him about it, and gave him a copy of the PDI checklist.
He arranged for me to drop by the dealership, and they would fix this error.
So, I did between spells of winter weather, they did their thing, and I had it back in about an hour.
When I got home, I again looked thru the parts bag, and sure enough, they screwed up again, and had removed ALL the brake cooling ducts.
Since I am not likely to track the car, and I only occasionally drive in a spirited manner, I decided to tell the Service Manager they blew it again, and left it at that.
Told the sales guy, too, just so he'd know why I wasn't returning any phone communications or email correspondence.
Found another dealer and they've been stellar.

All of the front brake cooling duct parts in the kit are to be installed by the dealer. And part of the rear brake cooling ducts components (rear knuckle mounted duct components) in the kit are to be installed by the dealer. It is all very clear in the instructions that come with the kit. It does require reading the instructions. As with any instructions, becoming familiar with the parts list is a good place to start, and its at the top of the instructions. I marked the parts in green that are dealer installed, in steps 1-5 in the instructions. Steps 6-9 install the parts marked in yellow - there are actually 4 part numbers. And the are the upper and lower halves of the left and right, rear lower control arm mounted cooling duct components.

Your choice. I left mine off, and haven't had any issues with braking.
If you live somewhere where the brakes are likely to get hotter faster under normal use/stress you might install them.
It's not a hard DIY if you have the time, tools, and the clearance.
Good install video here, if you want to save a couple of bucks...

Should have added this.

Yeah, just as said... if in doubt, follow the instructions.

And, never assume dealers do their job(s) correctly.
