Supp guys, new C8 owner. I just picked up a black C8 with red interior and red calipers . I am thinking about adding a little red accent on the exterior. Rocker panels and one spot in the front bumper... What you guys think? Also looking got ideas. Pics coming soon.

My advice is to reconsider one more time before you go forward. There are countless pictures of C8s in the forum with stickers, pin striping, colored trim, weird lighting, etc. and imo its the slow road to owning a pep boys car. What you do with your C8 is a personal decision and if you like it, it's not wrong. But if you're concerned about other people's opinions.... adding aftermarket colored pieces can be really tacky.

 

I have the same spec as well I just love the black look without nothing else on the car but that is my 2 cents worth

 

1/8 Orecal pinstriping off Amazon works really well and you can put on as much a little as you want. Great thing is it just peels right off if you don’t like the way it looks. I’ve striped and restriped mine a couple times, finally decided on just a few horizontal stripes on the front grill at the edge of the left and right flutes.

 

No Z06 yet but just don't get carried away. A little color for accent is all you need and not on every edge on the car. FYI, I used a darker red so it didn't look orange.

 

Personally, I'd leave it alone.

 

Try it out just to get the urge out of your system and if/when you get tired of it, take it off. I've tried many things on my cars, some things stuck, others got taken off or swapped out for better stuff. End of the day it's a hobby and hobbies involve doing stuff. So the urge to try new and different things, sometimes edgy or fickle, for the sake of the hobby makes total sense. Don't let others' judgements stop your hobby and liberty to indulge yourself in it.

I've tried different things and taken them off within less than 24 hours on my C8. But because I prefer a mostly OE look, I try subtle things, almost unnoticeable or indiscernible from stock to people casually but not intimately familiar with C8s. Examples are my gray pinstriping (front grille blades inspired by the OE body colored front grille inserts option but more subtle) and gold engine cover side panels:

I'm a C8.R fan and it's the reason I picked Hypersonic Gray for my C8. But the C8.R Edition with its stripes/stickers/high wing is IMO the tackiest special edition C8 thus far (nothing against its designers who I believe I'm linked with on social media). Despite being the most "Autozone special," it's the most limited C8 Stingray release. Thus the market deems it the most valuable regardless of what people like me think of it. The point I'm trying to make is that the C8.R Edition is proof that the judgmental hate becomes meaningless garbage if others value it differently (whether it be the market for C8.R Editions or just you only for your build).


I chose to emulate my favorite parts--the C8.R Edition's gray/yellow color scheme and its rear plate's black surround. Instead of the #4 and Jake skull symbols, I flipped those into Mandalorian symbols: The Mandalorian's helmet and the gray/yellow (like the C8.R) N-1 Starfighter he pilots (both match the phrase in my custom plate) tucked away somewhere nondescript but still visible in the vicinity of the plate like the Jake skull and #4:

 

IMHO I like 100% stock from the factory.

 

I want to play around with this. Which shade of red did you purchase?

I did something similar on the interior door panels. A little is all you need.

 

It has the edge red calipers. Im thinking just the rocker panel and the just the area in the front of the radiators. just the two highlighted areas

 

This is another option to consider that I used on my all white 2017 Grand Sport and my Cacti E-Ray. The Jake's are NOT Decals. They are water jet cut (I think) 1/8 inch plastic with 3M tape on back. Come in all colors and GS Creations, the supplier, has other exterior add-ons.

The nice thing about pinstriping is it is easily removed should you change your mind. A few highlights here and there can look very good.

 

I didn't like all of the black either. The white is painted on the splitter so it can be easily reversed.

 

Ugh NO. Don't go ricer. When in doubt ask your wife and or girl friend who is likely to have better taste.

 

Leave it BLACK... the calipers are sufficiently... well, uh... "colorful."
