New 2025 local dealer has advertised, HTC Sea Wolf Grey 2LT, MSRP just under $100K. This is a photo of the actual car on the showroom taken and posted by the dealer. I've looked at half a dozen new C8's and what I've noticed, mainly wit the GT2 seats is a pretty wide variance in the quality of the upholstery. I've seen a couple that look really good and as a whole are impressive, and I've also seen a couple I would not be happy with. This example is the worst by far. What do you guys think? To me it looks like if it was going to be replaced under warranty, you could easily get one just as bad or even worse. If this passed QC, I'm sure all the ones I'd reject did too. Is this what can be expected at this price point? I'm not a perfectionist, but poor quality workmanship is not acceptable either.

I am more than happy with the interior of My 2023 Coupe, I think My GT2 seats are perfect and I get a lot of comments when people look inside.
The C-8 is a mass produced car, not a luxury car. I have never owned anything that has the looks and the performance of the C-8, I am proud to show Mine off to anyone who wants to take a look.
That model in that showroom obviously needs to be corrected and I have never seen defects like that before.
The car I drove out of Bowling green was absolutely perfect . Even after over a year, and over 9,000 miles it still looks like new

Certainly from that pic the quality of the seats is not what I would want in a $100K car or for any car for that matter.

Don't order, don't buy sight-unseen. You seem to be forgetting, despite all it's still a Shivy!

I had a C7 and now a C8 and I love the car, but this is the biggest law that I can see when comparing it to other high-end sports cars. I know it’s a lot more money but pull a new Porsche up alongside a C8 and start looking at the interiors, the C8 leather is thinner, it just doesn’t feel like it has the same weight and look to it as a Porsche or even some of the high-end Asian products like the Genesis…

Please do not use the term "high-end" and Genesis in the same sentence as there is absolutely nothing "high-end" about them. That is laughable. Genesis is Hyundai/KIA and just cheap stuff regardless of how they are advertised and how vocal their owners are about them being luxury imports. They are a f'ng joke compared to BMW, Mercedes, etc. as any knowlegeable person who has driven both well knows.Originally Posted by Glen e

I don’t care what you think of Genesis, I’m not a Genesis owner, but they do have nicer leather, or acura, or lexus, etc etc etc
hell, my buddy has an F150 king ranch and the leather is nicer in that car than a C8.

Lexus has nicer leather? Junk leather like all the other "high-end" Asian vehicles. Thanks for the laugh Man. Originally Posted by Glen e

The '24 3LT Z51 HTC in my garage (and the previous c7 3LT I had for over 7 years) are both flawless inside and out. The build quality I'd have to rate as excellent, and the red stitching in my C8 is immaculate... all the stitches line up perfectly. There are no bulges anywhere. The panels inside and out are extremely tight and uniform throughout (Unlike my C7, which had some exterior panel gaps and lacked uniformity).
I've had top of the line Lexus, Jaguar, BMW, Mercedes and others, and while they were very luxurious, they were no better than the C8 in terms of build quality. Yes, it's possible to have problems with any vehicle that is manufactured in quantity. But it's time to banish the belief that the build quality of C8s is not comparable to that of Porsche and the others. You might go to the Porsche forums to see the engines blowing up, constant complaints about annoying rattles and how the plastic ***** and parts fall apart after not too long. Look at the US News Reviews for top Luxury Sports Cars and top Luxury Convertibles. Who do you think is rated #1?
But for the car the OP is referring to, I'd say don't buy a vehicle that has obvious flaws. Good luck!

While the installation generally looks pretty good in my 2024, the leather quality isn't anywhere near the seat leather in my 2021 Challenger.

Lets call a spade a spade and be clear that the interior quality of cars like Audi, BMW, Mercedes, is in another league when compared to Hyundai Genesis or any of the other Asian tin cans. NO free lunch in the car business, you get what you pay for. I get a good laugh when I hear people refer to their Genesis as a "Korean Mercedes", sure thing and probably makes sense to the aging Fast and Furious crowd looking to move up that thinks Golden Corral is a great place to eat. Some of us just do not know any better and that's OK, nobody goes to jail for that.

That level of finish or lack of, is unacceptable for any car costing over $50K. Chevy or no, that’s a crap job. If I ordered that car, I’d have to refuse it. You’d see that every time you got in it and can’t un-see it.

Every time Throttle House reviews a Mercedes they make it a point to demonstrate how bad the interiors creak, how much orange peel is in the paint and condensation in the headlights.Originally Posted by Plantaris

First, IMO the shown two tone interior is just unattractive but a worse choice is a suede steering wheel. What a maintenance nightmare,.
A year of use + skin oil + dirt = YUCK. I'd have to wash my hands first every time I got in the car to try and keep it clean and not matted. Looks like the seat centers are also suede!
I think the OP is referring to the lumpy red sections on the seats. Looks like a blind person stuffed them!

Orange peel for sure, same with many Porsches. Some of the very best paint I have seen in the last year is on Mustang GTs. Understand that all late model cars have "orange peel" clear coat, it is just a matter of how much. Supposedly it comes from the BS tree hugger environmental crap rule and regs about paint.Originally Posted by LancePower
