Default Connected Services Included Regular Diagnostic Reports, Right?

In a recent thread regarding the appearance of a MIL, the OP was advised to check his mychevy account to see if there was an indication of what caused the MIL. I thought it was a great suggestion, and prompted me to just review my diagnostic reports by logging into mychevy account from my laptop. I was under the impression that these were included in Connected Services for 10 years.

There weren't any diagnostic reports shown. Instead it shows a message telling me this: "Subscribe to receive real-time vehicle health data on our app, the OnStar Vehicle Diagnostic Report monthly email, and proactive vehicle health messages and alerts. Manage notification preferences in the Data & Privacy page of your account."

So, then I checked my email - I though I was receiving them monthly. Looks like I was initially receiving them monthly, then maybe not every month. The last one I received appears to have been in Aug of 2024, which is about three years from when I took delivery.

So, then I checked under "manage plans". I have never paid for a subscription to OnStar, and I would have had the three month trial subscription that expired a long time ago - leaving me only with Connected Services. It shows that I have "Connected Access" through 6/25/2031.

So, what does that include. Drilling down, it shows that I have Dealer Maintenance Notifications and Vehicle Diagnostics. Under Dealer Maintenance Notifications, it says "Your vehicle can notify your preferred dealer when it’s time for a service appointment", it says it active through 6/25/2031. Elsewhere on the site, I can see that I have all that enabled (there are options to turn it on or off). Under Vehicle Diagnostics, also active through 6/21/2031, it says "Monitors your vehicle’s key operating systems and provides you with regular updates about your vehicle’s health." Elsewhere on the site, I verified all that is enabled.

Specifically enabled (and has been ) are Diagnostic Reports by email, Proactive Alerts by email and mobil, Diagnostic Alerts, email and mobil, and Dealer Maintenance Notification turned on.

So, why have I not received a diagnostic report since last August 2024? Are others who did not subscribe to OnStar still receiving regular diagnostics after three years?

If you look in your account, can you seem any of them there too?

I don't use the phone app for that. I log in to my laptop. I don't use the phone app for anything, although I have it.

The reports I did receive up to last year were in email.

I don't see the report on the website nor my Android phone app but I don't think I've ever tried before. There is nothing listed when I go to Vehicle Diagnostics on thw website.

Same experience. MY23 delivery Dec22. I can see maintenance, warranty and recall in my account. Nothing else now. I’ve also noticed that service records come and go randomly. For the maintenance I do, I’ll do screen shots and save as a record in case they disappear and I need to “prove something”. I won’t pay for what was free and of little value.

So, when a DTC is set, will that show up in the on line account somewhere?

I‘m not sure. I’ve only had codes show up at the track (exhaust valves and one transmission P0700) that I cleared when they occurred. Nothing showed up when I was receiving the reports.

Andy, I have noticed that I am getting the SAME indentical results as you have shown above. I was looking it up out of curiosity a few weeks ago when using my reward points to order a new battery while they were 20% off. So after reading your posting, I've just checked again, in greater detail and I'm still getting the same exact replies as you've shown.

I do get mailed offers for service specials, etc from my preferred Chevy Dealer in the mail, but nothing else.

I CAN see all my Service Records, and I've added ALL my DIY maintenance service that I've performed. Also added putting in a new AC Delco Battery a few weeks ago. All that DOES show up. I also rechecked my settings for Notifications, etc and all that was properly highlighted to receive the diagnostics reports, etc and my phone and email info was all correct.

I've got a 2020 as well. My "Connected Access" ends on 8/30/30 which is exactly 10 years from date of delivery. Wonder WHY we aren't receiving the Vehicle Diagnostics reports any longer ?......

I have the same experience with my 2021 C8. I had my wife’s 2020 GMC Denali linked to that app as well. I regularly got updates on the Denali but I get the same subscriber message for my C8. I’ve paid OnStar nothing for either vehicle.

This may be an answer to your problem. I have a 2020 htc. Last August I began to have the same problem, Until then I had been receiving regular monthly diagnostic reports. The problem is not on your end. It is with OnStar. There are two issues. After several phone calls with OnStar I was informed there was a software update at OnStar in and around August. Second, If your car is not started "regularly" (and I am not sure not sure what this exactly means) you will not receive these reports. In my situation as soon as I started my car I received a report. Welcome to the world of computer quirks. Hope this info helps.

I have a 2020 that i bought new. I received dianostic reports every month through December 2024, as long as the car was driven during that time frame. They stopped in January. I haven't received any over the air updates in the past 3 years either. I'm guessing any OTA updates for a 2020 have all been done. I've never looked at the fine print but I'm guessing GM has a plan to keep their fingers in my back pocket.

Default Clockwork.......

We get a diagnostic report every month. And have since Nov 2021 for MY22. Never enrolled in an OnStar program. Though we did get a complimentary year with RPO 3LT,

That’s been my experience as well. When I put the car away for the winter months, the diagnostic reports stop. As soon as I start it back up in the Spring they start arriving again.

Out of the blue, I JUST got an email with an updated Connected Service Diagnostic Report ! Haven't seen one in forever. Go figure !

I have been driving the car throughout the winter on nice days, so it really wasn't put away for more than a couple weeks here and there.
