Remove the caliper by unbolting the guide pins then slide out the old pads. Don’t remove the large center bolt it holds the caliper together. Compress the pistons install new pads and reattach the caliper.
A number of us installed in the C8 Front pads by NOT removing the Caliper, removing the Caliper support Bolt and inserting pads from the top. That was on early C8s that had strong brake tape holding the pistons to the metal brake pad backs. I understand that latter C8s did NOT include that double sided brake tape. The replacement pads do not have the tape either. Then for sure much easier and safe to replace without removing front calipers. ALL YEARS, no need to remove rear calipers.
This is a Doc in PDF format that has full details of how To, including some who removed the caliper and some said smart to remove the caliper support bolt (it's easy) that made the new pads easier to install. Getting the caliper back with new pads installed not that easy. http://netwelding.com/Ceramic_Pads.pdf
