Hello, new to the forum and ZO6 ownership. Any insights/feedback would be appreciated. Took delivery of a 2024 ZO6 with ZO7 package. Came with Cup 2s. Unfortunately I have to replace 2 of the 4 tires. Worst yet front and rear on the same driver side of car (not front or rear same axle). I do not track car, but I still drive it spiritually around town from a dig/use launch control etc. So mostly around town "daily driver" use but would like to take on a state to state drive if the opportunity come up. Also it is my understanding that Cup 2s don't last as long as 4S in general. So my question is to ensure I have the most performance/traction from a dig/spiritual driving around town will I lose a lot of traction changing to 4S? Is any loss worth the benefit?
Also the current Cup 2s have approximately 4200 miles on them. If I decide to stay with Cup 2s should I replace the other two Cup 2s on the passenger side? Will having two new Cup2s on the left side and two "used" Cup 2s on the right side cause a problem?
Two things come to mind... Have you checked the alignment? And is there a mileage warranty on those Cup 2's?
It's bazaar that you're only seeing tire wear on your side of this machine.
How does replacing the tires solve this strange wear issue? Of course I'm assuming it's odd tire wear.... or did you damage those tires some other way?

Yes that's an alignment issue. I currently own a set each of S4 and Cup2, and live in a warm desert dry climate. Have year round readings of Normal and Warm. Since I have had my Cup2 it's hard to go back with the S4 and will be replacing my S4s with Cup2. Where it's hot there is a significant difference in handling and traction.
Both the S4 and Cup2 are not ZP and being so get better tread life possibly due being lighter in weight than their ZP counterparts. Not a ZP fan. This current set of Cup 2 I have 12.5K miles and looks as though they will get 15K miles and I do aggressively work them.

The Cup 2's that came with the car are a max performance summer tire, the 4s's will give you more longevity & all season use but will not give you the all out performance
Cup 2's have maybe a 10K mile lifespan on the street and Michelin specifically states: "DOT-approved competition tires (e.g., MICHELIN® Pilot® Sport Cup 2 tires) are excluded from any mileage warranty." They are excellent for warm and dry roads, not much will beat them except Cup 2 R and other dedicated track tires. They are terrible in the wet or cold below 45*F, and absolutely terrifying if it's wet and cold! With any speed in the wet you will hydroplane, it's not fun. But if you aren't driving in bad conditions and can live with the short lifespan keep running the Cup 2's.
The 4S will be much better in bad conditions, and still great in good conditions. They will last much longer with a 30K mile rating (20K-25K lifespan is normal for Corvette) but be aware with staggered Corvette sizes the warranty is only 15K miles, see below from Michelin:
"The mileage warranty on each rear tire will be half that specified for tires that cannot be rotated as recommended by Michelin because the tire size on the front axle of the vehicle is different from that on the rear axle."
"MICHELIN® Self-Supporting Zero Pressure (ZP) tires have the same mileage warranty as the standard tire line of which they are a part, up to, but not exceeding, 30,000 miles."

^^^ this poster is not clear. His non-ZP tires are aftermarket tires. The OEM tires and identical replacement tires are ZPs. All OEM tires on C6, C7 and C8 Corvettes are ZPs (zero pressure - runflats).

Yeah should have cleared that up.
Have two full sets, Vossen/Aerolarri one piece forged monoblocks, that are OEM diameters but half inch wider than stock. That allows me to go with a wider tire and avoid ZP..
Question came up at my Ron Fellows class, fwiw they said the all seasons give up very little up to say 7/10th’s, and had a leg up in cold weather. 7/10’s sounds low but above that is pushing the car beyond the limits of most regular drivers, in a track environment.
My c6 had all seasons and my c8 wears the same. Having driven both and the z51 cars at RF, whatever difference there is, it is small enough that I can’t notice it going back to my car and charging corners and entry ramps. Ymmv.
I also think the all seasons have a leg up if you get cold days or evenings with temps getting under 40 or so. My car is a 3 season car but we get a lot of those evenings in Michigan.
^^^ At least in the C8Z classes, the Ron Fellow School ran the PS4S Summer Only tire as the AS4+ was not even on the market then. They did swap the Cup2Rs off the Z07 equipped cars and put on the PS4S. The PS4+ tires have much more tread on them when new than the PS4S and if driven on a race track, I would expect to feel the tread squirm and the tires to overheat as a result.
I am likely to buy the AS4+ when the street PS4S need to be replaced, but I would expect to lose street grip on them during much of the year. Where I live we are able to drive thru the winter but do get a lot of mornings down in the high teens or low 20's.
