Has anyone tried Chemical Guys Hydro Leather ceramic coating on their leather seats? I live in Florida, and I am looking for a product to provide protection for my leather. I understand that these seats contain some type of plastic barrier on them from the factory so that is why I am not looking for a cleaner or conditioner. I am looking for a product that will compliment this plastic barrier so that it does not wear off. I already had this problem where the plastic barrier on my driver’s seat bolsters wore off and the red dye (adrenaline red GT2 seats) starting coming off exposing the black “mulan” man-made leather underneath. GM was great to cover this under warranty, but I want to avoid this problem going forward since I plan to keep this car for many years.
My apologies for barging in but my C8 has the white seats (I don't know the actual name of the color but they are definitely white). I don't wear jeans so I'm not too worried about die transfer. I'm either wearing a pair of slacks or short pants. I'm not a generally dirty person but I do sweat, a lot, and I'm worried about keeping the white seats white. I searched for Gyeon Leather Coat and found their relatively newer product, Gyeon Leather Shield. From what I can tell from searching, the Leather Coat provides a slicker coating for the seat whereas the Leather Shield lasts longer. Has anyone tried the Leather Shield on a lighter colored seat? The reviews on Amazon are generally positive. Thanks!
I put Gyeon leather shield on the seats and arm rests of my Natural interior. It doesn't prevent them from showing dirt, but it makes it a lot easier to clean them up. Hope this helps.

I too have the Sky Cool Gray (i.e. white) seats. I don't wear blue jeans, (I stopped when I retired) but other than that have take no preventative measures. I've only even wiped then maybe 4 times in 4 years and they still look great as they did when I first got the car. .....
What I've used is to spray one pull of Griots Interior cleaner on a microfirbe towel and used that to do both seats. That's it.
Does ceramic affect the seat cooling by clogging the perforations?
I have the microsuede inserts, so didn't coat that. Can't answer your question. But the key to applying it everywhere is to use it sparingly. Two very light coats is better than one heavy one.
Thank you everyone. My apologies again for taking a while to reply but, well, OKC residents have been partying like crazy for a little while now. . I purchased the Gyeon Leather Shield and their cleaner and plan on applying them this weekend. Thank you everyone for the advice!

Yes, I've used it for 3 years on my '23 HTC w/ all NAPA leather and it's great. Black Levi's don't scrub off color on the seats. Nor does any other fabric color scrub off onto the seats. They are soft and supple as the day i drove off the showroom floor. I like this product. Smudges and spills wipe right off.
I've stayed out of this discussion because the product I wanted to mention hasn't been available from the source for over a year, but I did a search and the stuff is still available. The Last Coat -- Cera Tex.
Very interesting stuff. .. It waterproofs any fabric. I did an experiment first on some pigskin gloves, then on a couple of paper towels. It slightly darkened the glove but you could only tell by laying it side by side with an untreated on. On a white paper towel, there was no indication that it had been treated. Still soft and pliable, but water pools on it and can't soak in. .. Amazing product, but the company has gone flaky. Too bad. ..
I've been too nervous about actually putting it on my seats, but ...
My Napa interior did not darken/lighten at all using the chemical guys product. There is no ventilation clogging or any evidence it's there other than great performance.
