Default front lift anomaly

My C-8 front lift feature generally works great as it will lift at a programmed point at grocery stores and other destinations. Is odd that there is one anomaly. It does not work at the post office after I set it on the next trip???? I've tried it about 6 times and at the Post Office with no luck on the automatic feature. It does work normally when I select the lift function. Pure speculation...is there a security function at the USG Post Offices that disable the lift function?

Do you potentially have poor GPS signal in that location?

Does USPS discriminate against the C8 front lift? I doubt the post office even knows what that is. Does the USPS have GPS jammers at post offices. No, that's absurd. There are more than 30,000 post offices in the US. Can you image the cost of fitting jammers at all of them? mikegr's question is the most logical answer.

If you are driving over 24 mph, I think, the lift function will not engage.

Correct. I wish you could use lift at speed as you can still bottom going over dips on highway. I suspect they don't as the suspension is fully extended.

He might have tried putting a fifth post office into memory, which would fail since it is a four-post lift.....

I've just been referring to my manual (2021) on the front lift system. From what I read, the memory is set by the exact same command as memory is deleted, that is by using the left side of the thumbwheel doohickey...

Is it possible that you have actually pressed it enough times to both add and delete it?

I'm really guessing that you have tried everything like that and that I'm just pi$$ing in the wind here, but that's all I can come up with as a reason for it not to remember. ...
Oh well, it's not toooo burdensome to have to press the button once in while.. but I do get your consternation at it not remembering in just ONE place in the world.

I can confirm that you can have a post office as a saved location as mine requires the lift to exit the lot

If it is set up correctly and you have not accidentally deleted it, then you can test/verify that right there in the post office parking lot. As an example, I have mine set to activate as I approach my driveway, And it does that. When I turn the car off in my driveway, it slowly lowers as expected and described in the manual. But....and this is the important part for your test, when I start the car in my driveway it will immediately raise up, because its close to the stored point - it does not need to be moving at all - just parked. So the point is activate it and save near the entrance to the post office parking lot. Then test it while you are parked there by turning the car off, let it lower a bit, then turn it on. The dash light also confirms its lifting/lifted.

One other thing. If you have a location stored and it starts to raise automatically, but you forgot it was stored and activate it manually, it will instead lower. This action does not erase it - that is done as described above - it just deactivates it.

I retired from the USPS after almost 20 years and yes, there's a lot of things that don't work inside the building as well.
