Default Hi Flow cats

So I'm super curious. A quick online search for C8 high flow cats produces numbers ranging from 350 pair to a clown show 2000.00 per pair. What am I missing? Is this the ol Corvette tax?

The expensive cats will pass en emissions inspection, I believe they’re 400 CEL. The cheaper ones will not pass inspection.

I have Corsa hi-flow performance cats--cost $1200 from Jegs when there was a 20% off promotion a year ago. They are GESI 400 CPSI. No CEL lights in 4,000 miles. Love the burbles, pops, and upshift cracks. The cats are Ceracote ceramic coated--no blankets. Kept the NPP exhaust.

Not all Catalytic Converters are the same, even if they're 200/400 cell.

There's different core sizing and different wash coats - precious metals Platinum, Rhodium & Palladium ($$$) which scrub the exhaust gases and can make or break avoiding a CEL.

Also, what kind of heat mitigation are they using? Proper heat blankets are imperative IMO as excessive heat can melt glue in the trunk and prematurely degrade/melt plastic components in the engine bay, not to mention raising IATs.

I have a ton of experience with different brands (Corsa, Milltek, SOUL etc) and would be happy to help. I think Corsa and Milltek are great for the $$.

We have some in stock as well and can install/ship worldwide.

I went with Stainless Works 400 CEL HFC which were on sale for $1100 normal price is $1300. I also have a set of 2M Fabrication Heat Blankets and O2 spacers.

I had Stainless Works Headers on my Mustang Bullitt and think their quality is as good as I need for my applications. They use GSport GEN2 Cats. I did get a check engine light with very heavy driving after about 500 miles(forcing overrun/burbles). I added the set of mini cats and no issue since.

There are some that are 200, 400, and 600. I believe factory is 800? The state you live in matters. I am in FL so no emission checks but if you do have to do them there could be complications.

The way it mounts as well varies by brand some have studs on them like the factory cats some don't.

Living in South FL I have heard a lot of exhaust set ups on C8's and HFC+NPP is the best combo IMO.

This is my car with the SW HFC. The video below goes over some differences it cats you may come across.
