Any mode you want as long as you observe the break-in procedure.

But pure track mode has some level of traction control by definition even if you don’t enable PTM. What is that level and which of the PTM levels does it equate to?
PTM and normal Stability Controls don't work the same and are not really comparable. There is no comparable setting, its more one or the other.

I love where I live and I have a very specific job that I have to commute to. So my thought, if I have to spend half my day in a car, Im going to do it in a car I like. I pick my hours so I'm typically on my way in at 4am and on my way home at 2pm so I miss the worst of LA traffic. I also live in the mountains north of LA, so I have 50 miles of 2 lane canyon road to drive every day!

That of course makes complete sense to me and I do understand it.

But it seems there would be some level of comparison even if it were a catch-it-in-the-air percentage guess. And I guess it would be good to know if the PTM is enabled while you’re in track mode, would that PTM setting the override and replace whatever traction/stability controls were built in to regular track mode?

i used mymode to taylor or sport. Track just holds the rpms up too high for the street IMHO.

90% of the time in My Mode with DCT in manual. Other 10% is in Tour with DCT set to Auto.

I use two Drive Modes and seldom use the Drive Mode wheel! Do everything from the steering wheel!

I use MY Mode and Z-Mode. In my case both set the same EXCEPT Power that can only be set in Z-Mode which I have set to max.
Have both set with Ride in Sport as in NE SC no frost created potholes and that Ride Mode is perfect for me, (responsive handling; you set how you like.)
I have NPP set to max in both.
Steering and Braking also set the same one step below Max.

So I switch between the two, ONLY with the Z-Mode button. I always STOP in MY Mode where it will Start.
Going the ~30 miles to town, where I mostly drive, often use Z-Mode as two lane roads, some twisty, many areas only farm fields both sides of the road. Corn and cotton (or now fallow fields) don't care how fast I drive. A number of stop signs and turns so seldom uses past 5th. BTW 5th is 0.67:1 OD. 8th gear mostly for GM to get highest EPA mpg in their test is 0.33:1 OD ratio.

Once in Town i use My Mode. If following a slower Pick-up on the way to town I just press the Z-Mode button and it goes back to MY Mode!

When I picked up my 2021 C8 and drove it home 125 miles on back roads I put it in SPORT mode except when I drove about 5 miles thru a typical Florida Thunder shower and I switched to WEATHER mode but when I was thru I went back to SPORT. Since then every time I start my C8 it's in SPORT while my buddy's C8 defaults to TOURING. He doesn't believe me and said every C8 defaults to TOURING. Just saying.

Tour mode for casual comfortable drives, Competitive Driving Mode for more spirited drives, Z Mode for full-out max performance drives.

I like Competitive Driving mode better than MyMode, because ESC is reduced and Launch Control is available without having to put the suspension on Track setting.

I leave mine in Sport mostly because when I start it in the morning, it reverts to touring and doesn't annoy my neighbors as much. Sometimes I switch to My Mode, but turn it back to Sport or Touring when I get home. All modes at too quiet for me, but my wife won't tolerate a loud exhaust....(insert sad face here)

Jerry,

I assume you are talking about your ERay. When in Z-mode in my 2022 C8, if I press the Z-Mode button again it goes to Tour mode. I have to rotate the mode select counter-clockwise to switch from Z-mode to MyMode. Is that the way your previous C8 worked?

Yep, should have clarified. The Z-Mode swap between the two Drive Modes is with my E-Ray. Also unlike what some have said IF I use Sport it is also different than my 2020 in that like Track, no V4 and no Stop Start. BUT if I stop in Sport it starts in Touring NOT like when I stop in MY Mode it starts in MY Mode.

With my 2020 C8 had a different MO. Because my two C7's, both would only start in Tour. Hatted the Mode Wheel, which I referred to as Russian Roulette since turning never knew where it might land. So without looking I could use one hard CCW rotation after it started and get to My Mode! The C8 is much better. I give the wrist rest credit which was not on the C7.
