I know there's been a bunch of posts about extended warranties...but I was just offered a GM 72mos. bumper to bumper warranty for $2K. I haven't done a lot of searching, but that sounds like a pretty good price. It's being offered on my new 2026 Stingray. My thought is why do it now while it's covered for the next 3yrs.? Maybe wait a year or two???
Your original warranty and extended one run concurrently so the 6 year extended would get you three extra BTB and one power train years. Best is to get it a couple months before the BTB expires.

In most cases it is better to wait until a month before your B2B warranty expires (but don't let it go beyond that). But there is a significant price increase at 12K miles so if you drive more than typical Corvette owners then you may want to get it earlier. And historically there has been an annual price increase on Oct. 1 that is about at the annual inflation rate.
It's not a good price .... You can get better pricing than that. Was this quote from your selling dealer?
Like already stated, you're paying $2k for a 3 year B2B extension and a 1yr powertrain extension. That's $666 per year for non-powertrain coverage term and only getting one additional year of power train coverage for that $2k.
My vehicle's B2B was expired and I had 7 months left on my powertrain warranty, when I bought a 4yr 40k mile extension. I paid ~$2800 for it; so around $700 per year of coverage. And I was out of warranty already, so my price was much higher than yours should be.
Unless the $2k offer is a "wrap" policy, which means the coverage would start when the B2B expires, it is not worth buying now; especially not at that price. Wait until you're in your 3rd year of the B2B and then buy from one of the guys who give special pricing to forum members.
Others can comment on what they paid, and when this happens, always assess it from the perspective of how much paid for how many years extension; not the contract term. If someone buys a 5 year term, but has 2 years left on their B2B, then the extension is only 3 years. Divide the price paid by how long the extension is, for comparable pricing evaluation.
I didn't know the facts when I bought my 2024 HTC. I knew I wanted a extended warranty and got the Platinum 7yr plan for $2100.
As stated, I really am only extended my BSB from 3 yr to 7r, and my powertrain from 5yr to 7yr.
If you wait you will get the 3 plus and 7 on the BSB. I price will be higher in 3 years.
If you are keeping more than 7 years, wait till Q4 of 2028.( prior to end of 3 year warranty )

FYI, There's no such thing as a bumper to bumper extended warranty. Your dealer quoted extended warranty is probably a Chevrolet Protection Plan which has exclusions which are covered by your current BTB 3 year warranty and not the Protection Plan, Any third party warranty has MANY exclusions too.
