It will only be limited if GM can't get the eAWD parts at scale. Attaching this thing to the prestige of the ZR1X on top of the Grand Sport name will do a lot to get things moving. ZR1X is laying down repeated 8.7s at TX2K right now embarrassing Plaids and Demons etc.
Launching the eRay as the eRay will go down a a classic marketing failure and the pivot to GSX is the way.
Big price hikes coming from Eray to GSX. You heard it here.
I agree.....I keep saying people on the fence should jump on some of the current ER on dealer lots....I think the old sentiment that GM wants the corvette to be priced for the masses will only be true moving forward for the SR.... after that I think you are going to need to open your wallets much wider and deeper....
Please post source... thats my point. I get all the rumors and such. BUT the only car they showed at the race was a GS. WITHOUT front coolers for the X/ axle. and GM has released nothing?
I am not saying it wont happen but i have not seen any real documents just everyone assumes it will happen with GM confirming a GS at all.

The details that came out from the dealer unveiling were quite specific and it's just logical to rebrand and update the X.
The dealer nots had it? well at least thats something. I mean it makes since not hating or saying it wont. I will go read that.
Here are Pics Posted after that Chevy Dealer meeting in Vegas a week+ ago. That was proof to me of what I have said for some time: "Would be foolish for GM to have two electric motor speed systems" The ZR1X electric motor by GMs own admission is essentially a software change, pushing max power safety margin with the same battery motor!
Many of us have seen peak power in our E-Ray of 185, some more. So for a short burst with cold wires, cold motor windings the controller was capable of delivering that power level with the same E-Rat 1.9 kWhr battery. A knowledgeable forum member who works in the hybrid/EV power control area said when the ZR1X was announced said looks like they just pushed the safety factor.
GM said they increased the motor bearing to handle the 26% higher power and stiffened the case. Heck trivial cost for next size bearing and may cost nothing to stiffen the case just a Magnesium case mold pattern minor adjustment. No way would it make sense to have two. So yep the GSX gets ~185 electric hp and the LT6 therefor gets ~535hp!
Looks like a real fender/logo to me! BUT not Mark Reuss saying "Yep the E-Ray is now the GSX!"
Jerry not one C8 on the market has a soild fender Scoop with not trim. even the GS that was shown at the race. thats how we know the pic is not real.
Fine, to me the Logo looks real. But hard to argue with my hp SWAG since the ZR1X was announced and @RedLS6 said how the extra power was probably achieved, with software! Oh, guess you can until GM formally states it! It's a forum we seldom wait for the final announcement.
Also my SWAG for the price is: 2027 GS = ~$91,000 for a 1LT Coupe (that is based on my 2017 Grand Sport cost OVER a 2017 C7 Z51 w/MRC as it was and IMO will be standard on a 2027 GS and the current 2026 C8 Z51 w/MRC and iron brakes.) 2027 GSX = ~$115,000 for a 1LZ Coupe.
Both will have a 2027 inflation cost addeder. We'll see how close I am!
again not saying the car is not going to happen, or that the logo wont look like that. Just that the pic is not real.. Its generated. AI, or other.
It could be damn close for all I know. but its not a real C8
Yep neither is the Pic showing 720 hp from the Texas Chevy dealer meeting! BUT enough evidence now that it will be here!
Enough folks, not just on the Forum, associated the E-Ray "Performance Hybrid" with EV's, PHEV's using power from the Grid; must have a Plug; who needs an electric motor to gain mpg in a Vette: that the name was going to change! BTW I keep a spreadsheet with gas purchases, have since my two C7s, 2020 C8 Z51. I get ~1 mpg less with the E-Ray than with my 2020 C8. And I drive about the same, ~60 mile round trips to town. The E-Ray is like all 7 of my Vettes since a 1988 a "DD." Don't use it for long trips. The reason for a ~1 mpg less is I USE THE ADDED POWER OFTEN! Its fun!
